I understand, he is described as Antonio Tarver's son, but after a conversation with my brother he thought Antonio Tarver was too young to have a son that is old enough to wrestle. So I looked up Michael Tarver on Wikipedia and his real name came up as Tyrone Evans, also it didn't state any relationship to the former light heavyweight champion(which why does WWE play up him as Tyson's former sparring partner, when the man was the first person to actually defeat Roy Jones Jr.?). I doubt they could actually lie about this, but with his real name, and no stated real relationship what's going on? The only explanation I can think of, is he is Antonio's illegitimate son and they rather not state that.

Makes more sense than to say he's Butterbean's son.

I almost don't have the heart to tell him I actually knock out people in 1.8 seconds. Its with a baseball bat, sure, but a K.O. is a K.O.

Let's see. Yeah, if wiki is right with birth years (which they sometimes aren't) then Antonio would've fathered Evans when he was 9.
So I'm guessing kayfabe. Factor in that Antonio is from Florida where Evans was when he adopted the ring name Tyson Tarver after being Tyrone Jones. Tyson has a good relationship with WWE as well so I'm guessing Antonio "signed off on it".

And by signed off on it, you mean they paid him money in a burlap sack with a dollar bill sign painted on the front. Vince is a Looney Tunes afficiando. He also likes to paint black holes on the floor to see if anybody will fall through them.

Obviously wrestling has lied about family relationships, but usually it was inside of wrestling and with other people they employ and usually tag with in matches. I imagine they have to pay Antonio Tarver something or have some sort of deal lined up with him.

Did they ever explicitly say he was Antonio Tarver's son, or just "Mike Tyson's sparring partner's" son? I don't think that Antonio Tarver and Mike Tyson had anything to do with each other, as far as I know, and they certainly weren't sparring partners. Tarver didn't debut until 1997, well after Tyson had hit his peak.
So, I think this is more likely a case of WWE thinking the name sounded cool, and gave it to him, not thinking that anybody would bother to fact check them on it.
EDIT: Oh, and wasn't that guy's orginal FCW name "Tyson Tarver" which just screams that it's a tongue-in-cheek made up name. Even now, as the more subtle, but equally Mike Tyson-y "Michael".

Tyrone Evans Jr. is the son of former Mike Tyson sparring partner Tyrone Evans Sr. I lived in Kent, OH in the mid 1990's and had the opportunity to meet both of them through a friend that boxed out of the same gym as Sr.

I don't think they ever mentioned the name Antonio Tarver, just kind of implied it
