John Morrison headlined last night's SmackDown house show in Tyler, TX, teaming with Edge to defeat Chris Jericho and CM Punk - Morrison tweeted after the show that it was his first ever house show main event. Seeing as they usually only let TV main eventers headline house shows in most cases, could this mean a big main event push for Morrison after WrestleMania?

They're probably testing reactions, and hopefully they're good.

He looked like a star in the SD chamber, and looked like he belonged up there with Taker and Y2J.

Anyone who complains that it took JoMo 6 years to (possibly) win a world title, it took Edge 8 years.

I do think it's taken guys like Edge and Morrison too long but all the same, glad to see that between this and the Elimination Chamber Morrison's being primed for the main event scene. My guess, he wins at Money in the Bank while Kofi cashes in and wins the WWE Championship on the same show.
For the record, I imagine if it was ever done as a televised thing that tag match would be amazing.

It'd be good if he is, but with what happened on Friday with him losing to Dolph Ziggler, I wouldn't be surprised if he's involved in that match with Miz and Show at WM.

They've certainly been testing the waters with him for a while now (or, to put it more pessimistically, letting him dive headfirst into the glass ceiling over and over), and we're reaching the point where if they're going to pull the trigger on Morrison, they'll have to do it sooner rather than later.
If Morrison does make it to the main event, he's one guy I can actually see WWE running with and not saddling with the "underdog champion who gets beat up a lot and is still completely inconsequental compared to the established handful of stars" gimmick.

Well since they came out with a dvd set of Morrison I would think they are ready to push him to main event status soon.

I hope so. I really think the guy belongs there. great look. Awesome worker. Gotten better on the stick and the more time he gets. The better he will be. If Jeff Hardy can be champion with his lack of mic Skills Morrison should. They need a new MEers and he be fresh and gives good matches.

I agree completely. Title changes just mean more if the person has been around a long time before we see them. It does make sense to pull the trigger sooner on some people, like Brock Lesnar and Kane. But I don't think it would have meant as much for Eddie Guerrero, Jeff Hardy or Mick Foley if they won it in a year or two instead of the 9+ they spent working through the ranks.

I really hope that he's midcard for life. He's a charisma blackhole and can only do some flippy floppy moves in the ring.

If he does, I want to see a feud with him and The Miz saying that while you stayedin the midcard, I headlined smackdown with all these main eventers.

If he does, I want to see a feud with him and The Miz saying that while you stayedin the midcard, I headlined smackdown with all these main eventers. And then Miz proceeds to run circles around him on the mic, making SD's top star look like crap in the process. I'd avoid any Miz confrontation until Miz makes it up there, which is hopefully after this tag team crap. I just really hope JoMo can find his place on the mic, embrace it, find his niche. I don't want him to be like Rey where he was good in the ring, but sounded/sounds like nails on a chalkboard, the guy he's facing is boring as hell, I'm uninterested in the program, therefore I don't care about his match no matter how good the end result is.
