If there's a Money in the Bank PPV later this year, there won't be any qualifiers. All signs point to HHH/Sheamus over Sheamus being eliminated by HHH in the Chamber. And I'm sure, that if it does happen... he won't beat Triple H at Mania. Because he's the heel. Heels lose.

It's just one match, if guys careers where ruined by losing one match, there wouldn't be anyone around. He's a young guy and was lucky to be in the place he was tonight anyway. Now he can get some more time under his belt and with time we will see what he is truly made of. If he has the "it" factor than he should have lots of big matches in his future. I don't think it's anything to freak out about

Because he's the heel. Heels lose. Unless you're Triple H. Well - yeah, ok, you got me there. HHH was probably the only "dominant" heel character that's been around lately. That said - I still think people are overreacting to this Sheamus loss.

If he faces Triple H at Wrestlemania, he would definitely need the win if he wants to get back.

And yes, Sheamus' career IS killed. He's got nowhere to go but down now. He got absolutely RAPED in the match tonight, not just by losing, but the whole match resolved around him getting the crap beat out of him. In the professional wrestling business, sexually based title matches are considered especially heinous. In World Wrestling Entertainment, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious bookings are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.

So why did they even give Sheamus the belt to begin with?

I'm more upset that MVP loses to the Miz AGAIN. Was that the third time he's lost a singles match to the Miz? In a row? To a guy who has 3 belts and doesn't really need 3 belts??
MVP, I think you know Glass Ceiling...

MVP, I think you know Glass Ceiling... Yeah, I was too busy being pissed off about Sheamus to complain about this. I was just hoping MVP would kick Mark Henry's ass afterwards but they blew that too. MVP is in desperate need of a heel turn... On the bright side, that match was great and MVP looked strong. Miz kinda cheated too, since Show knocked him out. The last time Miz caught him by surprise and last week, MVP caught him by surprise. You know what's left to do? That's right. Wrestlemania - Showmiz vs Ballsweat. Henry loses, MVP snaps, heel turn. Next week - Draft to Smackdown, heel push, world title. If there is a god above us, this will happen.

The staredown they had last night when Triple H's pod opened really did indicate a match between the two.

Sheamus was doing SO well as WWE Champion What version of RAW have you been watching since December? Sheamus was completely tanking as WWE Champion. They were smart to get the belt off of such a dud before WrestleMania.

They were smart to get the belt off of such a dud before WrestleMania. Exactly. I understand that Sheamus has his fans and that is great but the fact is he was a terrible champion. He was barely getting any heat and the fact the WWE refused to let him have any proper wins over any established stars made it an awful title reign. Certain heels are supposed to scrape by, such as The Miz or Corporate Rock, but supposed monsters like Sheamus should dominate. His career isn't over by a long shot of course but here we are 2 months later and I still don't know why they put the belt on him if they were not going to make him look a threat.

Sheamus was doing SO well as WWE Champion What version of RAW have you been watching since December? The one where Sheamus was getting so much heel heat that Orton was getting face pops for having a match with him. Just because they have a MitB PPV later this year doesn't mean they won't have a last one at Mania this year. People have come to look forward to it in the past few years, and I think they're expecting it this year, what with the MitB PPV not being widely publicized.

Orton was only getting face pops against Sheamus due to the fact that the fans don't actually care about Sheamus as champion in the slightest. The guy isn't ready for the main event either, and to those that say HHH needs to put him over, no he doesn't.
Sheamus as champ would have gathered no buy rates going into Wrestlemania, putting the title on Cena and then Batista is at least going to have the fans wanting to buy the PPV.

Orton was only getting face pops against Sheamus due to the fact that the fans don't actually care about Sheamus as champion in the slightest. ...if the fans are cheering for his opponent to beat him, then the heel is doing something right. I realize this is extremely difficult for many fans who started watching during the Attitude Era to accept, but the top heels in pro wrestling weren't always supposed to be badass antiheroes who'd get cheered by a not insignificant portion of the audience and get put on t-shirts. The fans were *supposed* to dislike them, view them as largely undeserving of whatever accolades they manage to achieve, and want to see them defeated. I've tried to avoid saying this directly in the many, many, many Sheamus hate threads over the last few months, since I know a lot of people take offense at the implication of being a mark, but I do think a great deal of the outrage over Sheamus' reign, the insistence that he didn't deserve this spot, and now the subsequent joy at seeing him dethroned and potentially banished from the main event scene, is exactly the reaction WWE wanted him to get from their fanbase.

I've been waiting for the hammer to fall on Sheamus. I hope I'm wrong, but I've been waiting to see him Khali'd back to midcard jobber status while the title stays on the big boys' plate (Cena, Orton, Trips, Batista). Pretty sad that, aside from Cena's mind-boggling ascent into the stratosphere (which had more to do with the women and children loving him than pure booking), Orton and Batista themselves are the last "young guys" to really be molded into top-tier talent. And remember how that was done? By setting them up with established names like Triple H and Flair. God forbid we do something like that again and actually *gasp* create some new stars with main event longevity rather than a revolving door of fly-by-night contenders who just get shoved back down the card after a month or two. Sigh.
