I'll give it a 9. It wasn't quite perfect as I found Regal vs Jericho and Taker vs Trips a bit dull at points but the atmosphere and pretty much every other match on the card was great. Probably up there with the best Wrestlemanias, along with XXI in my opinion.

10. Absolutely. Austin's heel turn was the second greatest heel turn of all time, it was truly, truly amazing, unexpected and brilliant. I went crazy for it.
The people voting 1 annoy the crap out of me. A while back I did a series of posts about whether or not a match was a five-star classic or not. Someone always ALWAYS voted 1, but none of them ever justified why.
I have no problem with people disagreeing, but the thread was meant to start discussion, much like this one, and they didn't discuss. They just voted and buggered off.

The highest possible rating. I've never been a fan of the Austin heel turn, but it put a sufficient end to the Attitude Era.

This was my first WrestleMania, and it's no wonder that it's still the best WM to date. It was THE show.
But it really always incredibly brilliant, but really, the Austin turn was well done, but the finishing move are just a few chair shots? It wouldn't hurt if he did one more Stunner, but just a few chair shots, instead? Weak.

I am going to say 8. Th wrestling, top to bottom, was really good. The thing that prevents it from being a 10 is Austin turning heel the way he did.

I loved X-7 and I loved Austin's heel turn. But I really think they dragged the end out too long with all those false finishes. It was very anti-climactic IMO. 10/10 nontheless.

Wrestlemania X-7 is without a doubt the single greatest show ever produced by the World Wrestling Federation. It encompassed everything that was great about the Attitude Era into 11 matches; high flying risk takers (TLC II), astounding technical wrestling (Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit), hardcore action (Triple Threat for Hardcore Championship), a brief trip back to our childhoods (Gimmick Battle Royal, and, well, YOUR childhoods. I didn't start watching wrestling until the 2001 Thanksgiving episode of Smackdown), the family feud (Shane vs. Vince) and of course, one of the most epic feuds of all time ends (Austin shakes hands with McMahon after Austin beats The Rock for the WWF Championship in the greatest Wrestlemania main event ever). I defy WWE, TNA, Ring of Honor, New Japan, All Japan, any wrestling promotion on the face of the planet to create a single cards worth of a show better than this. As said, this show is without a doubt the greatest wrestling show ever produced by the WWF, and for my money, it's the best wrestling show ever produced period.

I'll always have fond memories of Wrestlemania 17. I fell asleep watching it and my dad recorded it for me, I got a day off school the next day to watch it. After all my friends were finished school I ran around to all their houses to tell them that Austin was now a bad guy, stopped playing with my Stone Cold figure for a while after this. I miss being that excited for a wrestling event.

One of the best events ever, the height of professional wrestling and the epitome of the Attitude era.
Whenever people ask "What do you think is the best event of all time?" Wrestlemania X-7 is one of the first that comes into my head.

I am so glad that I bought the DVD of this event two months ago. I bought it used somewhere, in its original form. Yes, it still says WWF on there. I watched the show sometime after I bought it. I had been wanting this event since I had heard that it was one of the, if not THE, greatest shows ever. I watched it and I was impressed. Some of the undercard was great, like Jericho vs Regal, Kane vs Show vs Raven. There were some lowpoints, but they were still bearable. Then cam the great ones, like the main event, TLC II, Shane vs Vince, and I actually enjoyed Triple H vs Taker. I also kind of enjoyed the gimmick battle royal. I didn't look at it as a typical match, just as more of an entertainment segment to keep fans into the show.

Probably the best Mania talent-wise they've ever done. Funnily enough, the matches I most cared about were the Gimmick Battle Royal and the two RTC matches.

I didn't see Mania 17 back when it actually happened, but I got the DVDs for Christmas a year or two later. Hadn't been able to watch at the time it happened so I was pretty left out on pretty much all of the storylines, and yet I still consider the PPV the best ever.
Hell, it says a lot when a match involving Right to Censor and the APA is even itself pretty damn good.
