Let's say you're Vince McMahon and are planning what is easily your company's biggest storyline. You want to bring in the big names for WCW but don't want to bring more than five additional wrestlers in to compliment the already acquired ones (Booker, DDP, ect).
If you had to narrow it down to JUST five extra wrestlers, who do you choose and why?

Nash, Hall, Hogan, Bischoff - if that version of the nWo were apart of the invasion...but didnt pick a side i think it would have been one epic feud...just imagine the weekly brawls ending raw with alliance and wwf guys brawling....and then suddenly the nWo theme starts and out comes bischoff, with nash, hall, and hogan by his side...the roof on the arena would literally blow off just out of that reacion....they dont pick a side, they just go there own way and take out everybody that they want.
Sting - only if the crow version is the one who comes in. he would help WCW but like a RVD would be the most over face on the roster despite being apart of the heel group. Sting would never talk...and also be the last one in the brawls and clean house.

Also: Sting, Flair, Big Poppa Pump & Hogan (who'd I'd have playing both sides as he meant a lot to both)

Kevin Nash - Gives "Team WCW" a representative of the NWO without having to deal with Scott Hall or Hogan.
Goldberg - The guy was the face of WCW and a credible main eventer. WCW Main eventers were in short supply during the invasion.
Sting - He's Sting. Need I say more?
Jeff Jarrett - He would have been great as the "outsider" that no one wanted to deal with.
Shane Douglas - The man hated everybody at that point, both kayfabe and otherwise. He could have easily been portrayed as the "underground" menace - the one person trying to take everyone down regardless of affiliation.

I would've brought Hogan, Hall, Nash, and Bischoff in later, as the nWo, AFTER the InVasion. The WWF could've gotten them cheap AND doubled their profits with two mega-angles.
Anyway, here's my five, in order of importance:
1: Goldberg - One of WCW's homegrown stars and one every wrestling fan knows about. Still relatively young and had status in the eyes of the fans.
2: Sting - WCW's Franchise. He's also known by the casual fan and has NEVER worked in the WWF. That in itself would be a big draw. And just think of all the good matches he could've had with WWF stars.
3: Flair - My choice for WCW's figurehead. Even if Shane still "owns" WCW, he could've made Flair the Commissioner or President so the feud doesn't become another McMahon soap-opera
4: Scott Steiner - Again, one of the last top stars of WCW and still seen as a credible threat.
5: Lex Luger - I know people will be skeptical of this one, but when I think WCW stars Luger is always a name that comes up. And again, most fans would've known who he was and hiring him would probably keep Sting happy.

And Undertaker was still in biker regalia, so it's not like we would've seen the ultimate "Goth" feud in the first place. If I had to pick, I'd go with either Goldberg or Shane Douglas. But let's be honest, it wasn't about who wasn't there, it was the booking that ruined that whole storyline. |

The Invasion really needed Bischoff, Hogan, Nash, Flair, and Goldberg.
Bischoff would have been the instigator and organizer. In fact, he probably should have been shown to try to undermine Shane while leading the Invasion.
Hogan should have been in the Stone Cold role during the Invasion. Austin should have been a loose cannon at the time, hitting anyone that got too close (not unlike his earlier heel run).
Nash should have been a shit stirrer whose loyalty was always (and rightfully so) questioned. Everything he did should have been angled to take advantage of others situations for his own benefit.
Flair should have been the inspirational leader for the WCW faces. This means that it would not have been one large heel faction vs one large face faction. That dynamic sucked ass, especially since several of the guys on the Alliance side were natural faces and some of the WWF guys were best suited to be heels.
Finally, Goldberg should have continued the whole "One Man Army" gimmick.

Sting, Goldberg, Flair, Luger, Steiner for the WCW invasion storyline.
Hogan, Hall and Nash could show up and do the NWO thing a year later.

I disagree with Steiner and Goldberg since we saw how bringing them in later went. Hall and Nash didnt do so well when WWE signed them later. Goldbergs run wasnt so bad, at least this way he's used for the invasion, then puts someone over on the way out. |

Sting. It was WCW. How do you logically buy WCW and not bring in Sting? He was one of the guys who sat out the rest of his contract. He didn't want to go to the WWE. |

Cause Sting & Jarrett would somehow get a different treatment? Steiner & Goldberg during the Invasion would've been gold...if this dream scenario did not involve the people who actually booked the trainwreck. They could ruin the surest things back in '01-'02 (nWo). |

I think Sting might have.
As far as Jarrett my reasoning was only because of the legit heat he has with Vince.
Can you imagine if they stuck a mic in his hand and let him shoot on Vince? I'm looking at it from a fan perspective.
Goldberg's push when he finally came in is debateable. I don't see that it would have gone any different.
I don't think Steiner would have been any different than what happened when he finally came in either.

depends. I would have brought 5 big names in at the start and eventually 3 more over the nextt several months.
Initially
Sting
Ric Flair
Eric Bischoff
Scott Steiner
Kevin Nash
Later I would bring in Hulk Hogan as a free agent, with a whose side is he on angle.
I would also bring in Rick Steiner so that WCW appeared to have a genuine threat to the tag team division. Although Palumbo and O'Haire were the tag champs they weren't too known by mainstream fans, and as such were never given a chance agaisnt the WWF established teams.
Finally I would give WCW the advantage by bringing back their biggest heavy hitter and arguably biggest star of the modern era, Goldberg. I would have the guy rip right through the entire roster and feed Taker, Kane, Jericho and Big Show with the idea of ending the invasion with a confrontation between either Angle or indeed the dream match so many have had, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

I think the Invasion still could've been saved after KOTR if they had killed the DDP stalker angle (i.e. have him say he just did it to get Taker's intention, and not that he was in love with her...) and started bringing in the other stars.
