I was thinking about how NXT is going to have three seasons of 8 people a year, and that this will mean that they are going to need to find a lot of new people to be on each season. I mean because this time in 2 years that's 48 wrestlers!
So my question is will NXT eventually have a guy or two on it who have been on WWE TV before but didn't make it, and that's actually part of their gimmick? The guy who didn't make it last time, even if they had a respectable run.
See, I'm not saying RVD or Mr. Kennedy make their way back onto WWE through NXT. I'm talking guys like Domino, Ryan Bradock, Kevin Thorn. Talented guys who deserve another shot.
Would it work?

Repackaged guys?
I'd rather not see that, personally.

I'm not saying that.
I'll make an example.
Season 2 is filled with 7 random FCW guys as expected. But the 8th spot is... well since I randomly mark for him let's go with Ryan Braddock. Instead of trying to pretend he was never on WWE TV like they did with Drew McIntyre, admit from the start that this is his second go. Then from there he fights for his contract just like the other guys. Pretty simple, but it would add a little variety...

Nah it should only be for new wrestlers not ones that got called up and didn't make it IMO

Wrestling is fake why the hell not. Braddock, Cabana, Gaberial, Walker. Hell it would be kinda cool if they signed some random former TNA guys like Petey Williams or Dutt.

Based on the description of NXT, I have this bad feeling that only 1 guy is getting called up. So then IDK each season only gets 1 new guy but the Pros change each season so the 7 who don't get called up can try and do better with a different mentor.

They'll almost have to. There is only so much room for developmental guys in Florida, and there is only so much room on the two main rosters for guys to win contracts. So the only other options are to release the weaker performers on NXT, send them back to FCW for repackaging, or give the non-"winners" a second chance on NXT, maybe with a new mentor. Or they could combine those. But no matter the direction they choose, they will need 8 more Rookies before the 4th of July, and then 8 more Rookies by Halloween. Kaval and Dos Caras, Jr. will likely be the main guys for Season Two, but overall there are only 19 guys on the FCW roster page right now that aren't p-t in the WWE or on NXT. Six of the 19 are second generation (Brett DiBiase, Wes Briscoe, Joe Hennig, Jimmy Uso and the Rotundo brothers). The other guys are Kaval, Alberto Banderas, Alex Riley, Big E Langston, Conrad Tanner, Donny Marlow, Derrick Bateman, Eli Cottonwood, Jackson Andrews, Johnny Curtis, Johnny Prime, Percy Watson, and Titus O'Neill.
They can't really have 3+ 2nd gen. guys on a season unless they are going to do a Legacy Redux thing...though it could work down the line if Ted or Cody takes off and they each have a team of spawn to mold in their image.

I'd love to see The ECW Zombie get a callback and end up on NXT, maybe even just called "The NXT Zombie".

It will be just like the diva search where one guy wins and four others show up randomly within the next weeks/months making the whole thing kinda pointless.
But I guess also this way if a guy can't get over on NXT he's not gonna be called up to the main roster.

TUF had a comeback season, so I saw why not, somewhere down the road, assuming the show does well

I would really like to see this, it'd give some of the guys who got lost in the shuffle a place to stand out. I would like to see Deuce and/or Domino come back myselfs

So then IDK each season only gets 1 new guy but the Pros change each season so the 7 who don't get called up can try and do better with a different mentor. Realistically, it's more likely it's like Tough Enough: Only one "guaranteed" call-up, with more if they feel like it. It's not like WWE looked at Miz or Nowinski and said "Nope, sorry, only one guy gets a contract. Bye."

They aren't green and have been developed (some over years). I think at least half of them will make the main roster while the other half goes back down to FCW or rolled over.

I really don't think we're going to be seeing the same rookies season after season minus the winner. It will be new Pro's and new Rookies. And for the person that was asking about TNA guys like Sonjay Dutt I think it's likely possible you would see TNA guys on NXT. If Danielson is eligible TNA guys would be too. It's not like many TNA guys have wrestled in front of the same size crowds that WWE guys have.

It'd be interesting to see (and hell, given the amount of people they're going to be going through I think it's pretty likely) if eventually they start bringing people in on 15 week contracts just to work NXT. It'd certainly make it a realistic, as these people are legitamately trying to get over in order to get a job.
But yeah, I still don't know enough about how the show works to be able to tell. Who knows what happens to them all at the end?

Well Ryan Reeves (who is now known as Skip Sheffield) was on the final version of Tough Enough, so in a sense he is getting a second chance through a similar format (even though he already has a developmental contract).

THat could be a plan of theirs, considering we're not supposed to remember wrestlers that had other gimmicks or completely delete all Indy cred certain wrestlers bring to the "E".
I guess it depends on who's on FCW roster to bring up. Guys who didn't win the first season could compete again, couldn't they? Under a new "pro", it'd be a whole new story angle.

From what I have read, it will have one winner to RAW, one to Smackdown and the top 3 after that will return for the next season with 5 new guys. As for the return idea, I'd like it. I mean I would love to see someone like Curt Hawkins get on it and, they acknowledge his past and just say something like "He is a former tag team champion but, when he and his partner split, Ryder went on to stardom while Hawkins was lost in shuffle, now he is here to earn another shot at stardom."
