Hey, I'm not the one who brought it up - this was JR's idea!
By the way, has a wrestler ever been shot or killed at a live event intentionally by a crazed fan? That would be a Monday Night Raw to remember.

I chuckled.
JR wanted him shot and Grish wanted Booker to kick his ass. Not Cena's most popular night.
Now I'll duck out of here before everyone starts a war over ZOMG SEENA HATE RAAAAWWWWR.

There are many stupid people who rush the rails, but none who would ever try to pull a gun on one.
At least, I hope not.

After hearing some of the old stories with people being stabbed and stuff, I wouldn't put it past some fans. Just ask Freddie Blassie, god rest his soul.

I wouldn't even want to see The Miz get shot or stabbed, and that's saying a lot.

I believe Bruiser Brody was stabbed to death, but it wasn't a live show.

Wasn't the WWF afraid of Sgt. Slaughter being shot at live events?

It would be a somewhat interesting storyline. It would get Cena some time off and it would give the Cena haters some time to cheer incredibly loud. Then again, it would just be ripping off "Austin gets hit by a car", wouldn't it? Wasn't the WWF afraid of Sgt. Slaughter being shot at live events? The plan was for WrestleMania VII to be held at the L.A. Colisseum, right? 100,000 seat capacity. But, as the first Gulf War developed, and as Sgt was a heel Iraqi sympathiser, there were fears, yes, and WMVII was moved to the L.A. Sports Arena.

Stephanie was lucky she got off of television in 2003 because fans were plotting some big conspiracies to jump the rails and do what they wanted to do to her for a LONG time.

someone this day an age, during the internet era would be highly illogical. reguardless of hated cena could be storyline wise, that would never transcend over into legit feelings of hatred enough to want to stab somebody. every one and their mother is aware that wrestling is fake/scripted/choreographed. the stories of blassie and all the old timers was in the kayfabe era when what was in the ring was real. hell even the dudleyz in the late 90's causing near riots at ECW shows seems stupid, but than again bubba and d-von did push it too far, farther than say guys like blassie and kowalski. nowadays if someone even thought about it, they should be mentally f***in examined.

It could have been that ... or it could have been that they didn't pre-sell nearly as many tickets as they thought they would so they moved it to another venue so it wouldn't look so empty. I've heard both stories, actually. Can anyone verify either one?

Wikipedia says...
WrestleMania VII was originally supposed to be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but by January, only 17,000 tickets had been sold. It was decided to move the event to the adjacent Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. The World Wrestling Federation's reason for the venue change was because a bomb threat had been issued towards the company on the day of WrestleMania VII. The company has since held on to this claim.
So, I'm wrong, because there's the real reason, and the WWE/F's reason, which is usually wrong.

JR does sometimes use some fine sarcasm. I got a laugh out of that line. Agreed. That was JR's best line in months. It only could've been better if Don West were his color man. JR: "Why don't they just shoot Cena?" West: "IN THE FACE!!!!!"

In what context was it?
