Madison Square Garden New York, NY 20,798
Theme Song: Stand up for rock n roll by Airbourne
#1 - If Flair looses he must Retire: Ric Flair Def. MVP #2 - JBL Def. Chris Jericho via DQ #3 - World Heavyweight Championship: Edge (c) Def. Rey Mysterio #4 - WWE Championship: Randy Orton (c) Def. Jeff Hardy #5 - John Cena won the 30 man Royal Rumble
On paper this event was average, BUT, On TV this PPV was freaking awesome, 9/10
Matches were solid, title matches were great, Everyone expected Jeff Hardy to win the big one but didnt, Orton counters the twist of fate into a RKO, John Cena returns and wins the rumble, Great show, what to expect @ MSG

Both 2007 and 2008 were disappointing years for the Rumble PPV...but 2008 was marginally better. I think 4/10 is fair.

I loved the Edge/Mysterio match, especially with the spear ending. I can also watch that Twist of Fate/RKO counter a thousand times and it still is awesome.

I haven't watched the show in awhile, but if I remember right, I like it everything except for 2 things. First was the Flair/MVP match. It wasn't BORING! and not because you knew Flair would win, but because MVP blows up fast in his matches and if he's not working with a quicker opponent his matches suffer because of that and we all know Flair isn't quick lol.
The other one Jeff Hardy not winning because he was WHITE hot at the time, though I didn't mind Orton winning I just thought Jeff winning would've been better. Now hindsight 20/20 it was smart because Jeff just a couple weeks or week maybe later Jeff got wellness, so WWE did the right thing.
Now Cena coming back was huge and even not being a fan I marked out and didn't care that he won because it was a great moment in my opinion.
So overall I'd give it an 8.

First PPV I ever ordered, and one of my favorites EVER. The Cena return was awesome, and this is coming from someone who isn't a big Cena fan.

One of my favorite Rumbles. Red hot crowd. Plus I watched it with a lot of my friends and marking out long with them made the show that much better.

Okay ppv. However if you wanna talk Royal Rumbles in MSG, 2000 Royal Rumble blows this out of the water.
