This may have been asked before, and if it has my apologies, but as wrestling fans do you want the Rock back? If the stuff floating around about him coming back is true then I would have to say no, just because it seems like he has done everything to distance himself from wrestling. When he stopped going by the Rock to distance himself from his wrestling past, I think it was sort of disrespectful to the entire wrestling community; and his fans. But would you welcome the Rock back to the WWE? EDIT - Not for him to come back just in a wrestling role, but just any semi-permanent or permanent role. EDIT - I don't have a problem with the Rock leaving to pursue other ventures, that's fine by me as he seems to be doing well with it and enjoying it. My problem is that it seems like he wants to forget he was ever a wrestler and he's always been JUST Dwayne Johnson. I didn't mean that I have a problem with him leaving, I just don't like how up until now it seems like he's wanted everybody to forget that he was a wrestler and he's been just an actor. That's just how I took the whole thing was all

I really don't give a shit about him distancing himself from wrestling business to further his career, and frankly I don't understand why anyone would. There probably aren't many people who wouldn't have done the exact same thing were they in his position.
Now as for the question of whether or not I want him back, it really depends on which "Rock" he returns as. If we're talking 1998 through 2000 People's/Corporate Champ Rock, or 2003 Hollywood Rock then sure. But if we're talking 2001-2002 "Nice Guy" Rock, which is what I suspect we'll get, then absolutely not.

Come on, if your old company's track record includes drug scandals, perverted storylines ranging from incest to necro s***, wouldn't you try to drop them too?
Edit: By the way:

No... He never gave enough back to the business who made him who he is today . I DONT appreciate that. Some people will crap on Hogan or Flair, but at the same time at least they have back somewhat to the business. Putting over the young guys, making them legitimate.
I think Rock forgets where he came from. If it was for Vince and the WWE, would he be a multi millionaire today making his crap tooth fairy movies in hollywood? No. Hes selfish and as far as Im concerned stay the hell away make his garbage movies. Rock couldnt have distanced himself any further from the wwe and wrestling yet without it he would be just a joe schmoe today

Rock elevated Lesnar and put him over clean. Christian,Hurricane and Eugene all got rubs. There's never been a report about him refusing to lose. Can't say the same for Hogan and Flair.

Christian, Hurrican, Eugene didnt really become anything big though. Hogan put over Lesnar, Taker, Angle in his return. I think he should have put over Orton definitely. Shawn didnt need the rub he was already established. Flair put over COUNTLESS wrestlers and time and time again to the point of beating Flair meant nothing anymore. And hell Hogan put over Billy Freakin Kidman.
The biggest problem I have with Rock is how much he distanced himself from wrestling. To me thats a clear sign of forgetting where u came from. The industy made the rock. Without the industry what would he be doing? being middle class. Not a multi millionaire. So to me he kind of spit in the face of the business regardless if there was a negative stigma about it or not. To be honest there has ALWAYS been a negative stigma about pro wrestling. But I think it deserves more than that. Its a great way to make a living. Where else can you have no college education, see the world and make the kind of living they do?

I never get people who hold it against The Rock and Brock Lesnar for daring to seek other employment when they got bored and ran out of things to do with wrestling. As for giving back or whatever, Rock and Lesnar gave plenty to the business while they were working in it. Why should they have to give more after moving on?
As for me, I don't want Rock back mainly since I was never a big fan.

Nope. Let him continue doing his Hollywood thing and being toothy fairies and cab drivers saving alien kids in horrible remakes. He's enjoying himself.

The Rock gave enough to wrestling by wrestling for however many years he did. WWE gave back to the Rock by paying him for it. It's a job, not a sacred covenant. If the Rock did his day's work and got his day's pay for it, I don't believe he owes or is owed anything.

It's like saying that after taking a job at a law firm someone should still go back to the McDonald's they worked at through law school every few months to flip burgers and start the timer on fries.

Well, you should go back if you never put over the new burger flipper with the customers before leaving. Lay down for that son of a bitch and tell the customers he's the future of burgers in this restaurant.

i'm a Rock fan but i don't think he should come back.
his era is gone and can't be recreated. it, and the Rock, should stay in the past.
he owes nobody anything. he's healthy and wealthy. good for him.

No. Not because "he sucks", but because his best material would not make it past Standards & Practices in this day and age.
