To make Vince think he can beat Bret easily, he says theyre on for Mania.
At mania Bret reveals he's 100% and they faked it.
imho

I think it's an excuse to keep Bret out of the ring, and have Cena fight to defend his honor. Quite brilliant actually.

Either way, it just seems like a pointless addition to a storyline that was doing just fine on its own. Do they really think we're not going to get behind Bret? And that he has to get "hit by a car" for us to care?

Vince or Batista either cut the woman's breaks or paid her to do, to put Bret back in a wheelchair where he belongs. It's the ultimate screwjob.

I thought it was quite neat. It's hardly 'complicated', as far as wrestling storylines go. *cough* TNA. WWE like to keep it simple, but they seem to be doing all they can to make this storyline worth their while.
In any case they've done it for a reason. Either to keep him out of the ring, or to add heat.

I think storyline wise, Bret set the whole thing up. In other words, the Hitman put out a hit on himself.

I don't really think Cena & Bret faked the whole thing. Seems kinda heelish to fake a tragedy just to gaud someone into a match, even if it was Vince McMahon.
