not only is the March 8th Raw the first of the new Monday night wars but it is in Portland, OR. now i dont usually take interest in where events are held but ive noticed that Portland has only held a handful of WWE TV shows and 2 PPVs (Unforgiven 04 & No Mercy 08) why is that the case? that they dont get much WWE at all??
Just curious

Maybe it's because that market in Portland isn't as strong as others, so they tend not to come around that often. Just a wild guess.

I believe it was because they either heavy taxed wrestling or still had it under the boxing/sports commission which required WWE to have the wrestlers take a bunch of tests that they didn't want the guys taking.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they required drug tests of the wrestlers, on account of the boxing/wrestling commission

I've gone to a house show, a Raw and the No Mercy PPV and the crowd was extremely awesome, plus people buy up tickets quickly. I think the only time it wasn't sold out was the Raw event back in 2007. Then again, WWE only has one show a year in Portland. Maybe the market isn't good enough here... Anyway, I heard it had to do with the commission thing like Ric said. I do wish we would get more events, though.
