I'm watching the video of it for the match at Summerslam and it got me to thinking. Did they ever explain why Rey couldnt have kids?
Was it ever brought up who his daughter's biological father is? Should we assume its Eddie striking again?
Did Eddie knock up Rey's wife? Or did he just knock up Vickie and then they said here's your son 9 months later.?

I always thought their other kid was them getting lucky. Though now that it's seemingly retconned out of existance, it doesn't seem like it will be completly answered soon.

Correct my if I'm wrong. Weren't Dominic's (kayfabe) biological parents Eddie and a random ring rat? Not Eddie & Vicki or Eddie & Rey's Wife.

It was a terrible idea to do but it gave me an awesome cage match on my best of smackdown boxset.

Yeah, I remember Eddie going on about how she had "SEVEN OF EM!" I remember thinking Rey would win and Dominic would turn heel on him. This was such an awesome storyline, it sucks Eddie passed away as I was looking forward to him finally turning on Batista and winning the belt again .

Is Eddie being Dominic's father still WWE canon?

Should've been settled with a "Dominic on a Pole" match!

The story itself was hokey, but Eddie's heel turn, esp. one episode of Smackdown that opened with him sitting in in chair mid-ring giving a great promo, was excellent.
Though the fact that Dominic looks JUST like Rey added to the silly.

I loved how the had a "social worker" intervened in this angle and when someone suggested the ladder match for custody of Dominic and the social worker gave this "What are you crazy? Legal disputes aren't properly settled in pro wrestling matches" kinda response. Also, I think Dominic finding out who his father is followed by Rey chasing after him in the arena was one of the better segments of the angle.

I posted about this in the wrestlecrap board after it was inducted last year. My sentiments were basically that yes, it was an absurd storyline, but in the equally absurd world of Pro Wrestling I was able to suspend disbelief and pay attention to two things:
1) The quality of matches inclduing a breathtaking ladder match at Summerslam.
2) Eddie's absolutely flawless and captivating heel work.
Sure, the notion that a child's custody being contested in a ladder match was beyond ridiculous, but you know what? The phrase "greater than its sum of parts" applies here. One of the most memorable angles of the 2000s due to the performances of both men.
