I think they should go for a storyline where a wrestler puts off turning in the briefcase or even putting it on the line, because he's got a whole year to do it. Eventually heels and faces alike start to s*** on him for being ungrateful and and conspire to force him to either defend it or have it stripped from him.

Wasn't Kennedy gonna wait a full year to cash in before he got injured? He even had a countdown clock if I remember.

The person who wins it is so confident that he will win because everybody else did, that he loses the match.

I say have the winner be elevated slowly to the main event scene and at the next WrestleMania, close the show for the title.

I'd like to see whoever wins it to keep pretending he's gonna cash in. Like, say whoever's champ gets beatdown or has just had a real exhausting match, MitB guy's music hits and they come down, but it's only a fake out and he just stares him down.
Do that on a whole bunch of Smackdowns or Raws, and then have him do it again on a PPV, where by this time the Champ is all blase about it because they think it's just another fake out. But then BAM! finisher and new champ.

Or you could go all 24/7 Hardcore Title with it, where the holder starts traveling with a referee, just to screw with every champion's minds.

Have somebody steal the briefcase from the rightful winner, and cash the unearned briefcase.
Instant feud, I say.

Mr. MITB hires a referee to stay with him 24/7 just incase he finds the right time to cash in.

Since the Miz is generating a lot of face heat, here's a way to turn him face using MITB without him doing anything really facey (is that a word). I would have him win MITB at WM XVI and then cash it in that same night on Sheamus right after he successfully defends his WWE title against whomever.

Somehow have the case holder cash in on both WWE and WHC champions at the same time and pin them both at the same time

The winner next year is a plucky young babyface who barely pulls down the briefcase at the very last moment.
Then, for the next several months, every single other member of the roster comes after him for the briefcase, all wrestlers, Divas(TM), Hornswoggle, referees, table commentators, etc., like a bad horror movie. The plucky young babyface fights like a madman to defend it.
He's then shown in a run-down motel room in Tijuana, covered in sweat, with a horrible five-o-clock shadow beard, battered, taped up, on crutches, and finally sets down the briefcase on the nightstand, and slowly, slowly opens it. A little puff of confetti and plastic snakes pop out with a noisemaker horn sound.

Have a MITB winner plan to use the contract at Wrestlemania... and as a result he turns into a completely lazy and entitled asshole.
He loses any strong compulsion in certain matches as he's guaranteed a title shot anyway. He doesn't pay attention all the time, at times DQs himself via weapon shots and shrugs when he loses number one contender matches. It gets to a point where other heels don't like him as he never feels like putting in a full effort when he's competing.

I'd love for the MITB winner to get like 2 title shots via MITB & Royal Rumble, he loses the first match, then cashes in the second. Would probably work best with a face falling just short in the original match.

They should have the guy (not sure who) win the title without having to use his MITB contract. Then he can start taunting the other brand's champion with threats that he's coming to take his title too and unify the belts. He finally cashes in, but loses the match. The champion he cashed in on now feels he has a claim for a shot at the other championship which sets up a title-for-title unification match that has the guy who had the MITB contract win.
I know it's fairly generic but it could be interesting and fresh if done right instead of the typical "champion is down, guy cashes in and wins, former champ wants his title back" scenario. It gets the MITB winner losing his title shot scenario out of the way without damaging the user's credibility since he's already a champion himself and it gives us one world champion.

It be hilarious if someone like say Carlito (Although he'll probably never win it) thinks since everyone else has won so far, he'll just run down while Taker is posing and cash it in, only to get Tombstoned and loses his only guaranteed match.

Someone waiting all year to cash in at WrestleMania. He wins, then the guy who won the case earlier in the night cashes in immediately and wins the title.

That raises an interesting point: if someone has the case but refuses to cash it in, could they still have a MitB match? Could there be two cases?

What kind of Angle could they try?
Kurt Angle.
I'd mark.
