He's just do damn goofy acting to really hate on.
The guy is a hell of a wrestler and can hang with the best (See HHH and Cena matches) in that department.
Yet he's been nothing but a jobber since coming to RAW, and I still think he's pretty awesome.
The way he randomly does push ups, has that silly look on his face, randomly saying stuff during a match, randomly throwing his arms around for no reason, and that lisp! He is just so damn goofy of a person, that I can't help but like him.

I thought I was gonna hate him, because I usually hate "cocky young superstars" his persona just seemed slight different. He, as you said, is pretty goofy, with his personality, voice, and mannerisms, and also that silly looking smile.

He's starting to remind me more and more of Scott Steiner.
And Steiner's been at his best once he realized his big, 'roided-up, barely coherent tough guy character was unintentionally hilarious, and started deliberately playing up just how ridiculous the whole act is.
Then again, Batista's been just as silly for years, and he's never seemed to be in on the joke, and it hasn't stopped him getting pushed.

I like Swagger.
Minus the majority of comedy and the big win streak since Raw, he kinda reminds me of an early days Kurt Angle.
...but that's maybe just because I'd like to see the two team up if Kurt ever came back to WWE.

I like him, but it's yet another disappointing "Hey, here's this guy. We don't have anything for him to do. But he's here. Kind of. Enjoy." RAW mid-carder situations.

I agree I think hes just way too goofy to be a good heel now, but hes a accomplished wrestler as seen this past monday night. So when sheamus eventually loses the title which will be soon i think, a mid-card rivalry between swagger and the brightest of bright superstar sheamus would be a good move. It can be like sheamus wants to be back in the title picture but swagger keeps foiling his attempts.

If he had 10 times more personality, he'd basically make a perfect Kurt Angle.

To go to Smackdown, Jack Swagger needs.
Terry Gordy booking, he needs. They midcarders look competent not, hmm?

I used to hate Swagger for the reason the OP described, but he is a phenominal wrestler and grew on me during his reign as ECW Champion.

I immediately thought of Steiner last night for some reason as well. I really think I just wanted to hear "HOLLER...IF YA HEAR ME!" and then see Swagger come out.

Swagger is sort of like a less refined Kurt Angle to me, when Angle first appeared in WWE. He has boatloads of talent, is a decent talker, and he exhibits a lot of heelish behavior, yet I could never see him as a true heel the way I could never see Angle as a true heel. In a way, you could say that they are such great real wrestlers that their wrestling prowess sort of overrides any heel heat they could get from me.
Swagger reminds me a lot of some frat buddies I had at Penn State; smart, big drinkers who would get into a chugging contest at the drop of a hat, athletic, but ultimately seeking the approval of others deep down, and that manifests itself in a latent, self-conscious insecurity that will never truly allow them to be confident enough to attain Flair-like arrogance or even enough confidence to rise to the pinnacle of their profession.

He's a huge breakout star just waiting to happen.
They will need to undo the damage of being constantly BERRIED before he gets there, though.
