I would vote for so-so because I think when he is Madea, he can be funny. But honestly that is where his best source and he doesn't get his other jokes right.

I vote no, because he's mostly annoying. But I'll admit that some of his Madea stuff is okay. Not hilarious, but chuckle-worthy.

I don't get it at all, but maybe it's because I'm not black?
I love George Lopez, but most non-Hispanics don't get him either.

I don't find that true, I know a lot of us crackers who get him fine and find him funny. At least people who grew up when it was still ok to whoop an ass. That said I know barely any one of any background who finds Perry funny. Not till a week ago did I meet a adult black person who thought he was funny at all.

I've said it a million times, but Tyler Perry's primary demographic is southern blacks..... I'm a northern black(Brooklyn to be exact) and I find him to be good. I think "Meet The Browns" is a pretty good show but I haven't seen "House of Payne." His movies are very enjoyable and always seem to support strong family structure which is always a plus in my opinion("Daddy's Little Girls," "Meet The Browns(the movie with Angela Bassett)" and the "Madea series. He does fit my demographic, but I think his work reaches more audiences than we sometimes give him credit for.

I'm a northeastern white guy and I find Madea hilarious. Most of his stuff is funny though....and all of his movies are good.

Madea i find hilarious. Tyler Perry i find repetitious and preachy. I want each of his movies to come with the supplemental 5 minute version of just Madea.
the same married drama / junkie getting off the streets stuff is great for morale and i respect the message he's trying to send, but it's turning into the Lifetime Movie Network where it's the same movie over and over.

Tyler Perry Himself? No , not really.
I like his TV shows mostly because of the Dad on House of Paine and Brown From "Meet The Browns"

I'm not a fan, but, as has repeatedly been pointed out, I'm not his demographic. He doesn't appeal to me because he's not trying to.

Mostly just try to ignore him, but his constant advertisements for Tyler Perry presents Tyler Perry's Madea Goes Greek starring Tyler Perry get really annoying.

I don't care. Never saw any of his movies and don't intend to. I'm just irritated that his name is literally everywhere. The guy cranks out movies like Takashi Miike or [Instert Porno Director Here]. Sooner or later, we're gonna end up getting Tyler Perry's Transformers 4. I'm honestly surprised they didn't make it Tyler Perry's Star Trek due to his cameo.
But seriously, one time I went to Best Buy and the lady in line in front of me (who was black) put her stack of DVDs on the counter and I saw it was nothing but Tyler Perry movies and Katt Williams specials. I thought that was kinda funny.
