Watching the Judas Priest episode of Behind the Music (Remastered *ahem*) on VH1 classic right now.
God, but I love this band. I generally prefer Maiden, but these guys came in at around the same time, and still rock just as hard today as they did in 1980.
I know there's some classic metalheads here on the forum, so appreciate here.
And probably their most well known...

Love Priest, Painkiller is one of my favorites if only for the drumming in that song. Great band.

Awesome band, one of my favorites. My fave songs are A Touch of Evil, Painkiller, Electric Eye, Judas Rising, Turbo Lover (what? That song is awesome, dammit) and the cover of Joan Baez' Diamonds And Rust.
I can also do a fairly decent job imitating Rob Halford's singing voice (and his metal screams). ;D

I love me some Priest! And don't worry Blaze, you're not the only one who likes Turbo Lover.

Their last album Nostradamus was pretty good. I'm curious as to what the hardcore Priest fans thought of it.

Their last album Nostradamus was pretty good. I'm curious as to what the hardcore Priest fans thought of it. As a hardcore Priest fan, and speaking on behalf of myself, "Nostradamus" was great as a concept album, but it's not one that I can really listen to repeatedly. I can honestly count on one hand the amount of times I've listened to it. Just not really how I like my Judas Priest, but it seemed to be this passion project of Rob's, and kudos to him for putting it out there. Really. What I'm curious about, and I don't want or mean to hijack a thread, but what do hardcore Judas Priest fans think of FIGHT? I saw them live twice and I really like them.

My uncle gave my brother the "Painkiller" album one year (along with "Nevermind" from Nirvana and "Core" from Stone Temple Pilots...how the hell that happen was baffling) and I remember hearing "Painkiller". Being around 6-7 and having this music assault my ears was mind-blowing. Been a fan ever since.

I'm glad to see a lot of fans of the Painkiller album. It seemed to light a fire under them in a time when they needed it. A couple years back, I did a thread dedicated to Painkiller alone. Great album.
Insofar as the Nostradamus record goes, it is indeed difficult to listen to, because, like most great concept albums, it needs to listened to cover to cover. Clear your evening, or don't bother, so to speak. Still, their musicianship is quite evident, and it shows how they've matured and grown as a band.

WAIT WHAT *looks at GT3's song listing for the NTSC version* You guys got Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe and Jimi Hendrix on the soundtrack?! The hell? The European version had... umm, Feeder and Ash and some other crap.

Awesome, these guys were arguably the kings of metal. Sad that they're kind of forgotten today. It's sad that I only have 4 of their albums; British Steel, Defenders of the Faith, Turbo, and Hero,Hero. All great. will have to check out their other stuff.

LOVE Painkiller and Electric Eye. Not really a fan of their radio stuff though.

Judas Priest is excellent. One of the few Metal bands to sound different on every album, yet still maintaining an overall greatness. For me personally, the old stuff from Sad Wings of Destiny, Sin after Sin and Stained Class is their best. Case in point:
Exciter from Stained Class
Dreamer, Deceiver and Deceiver from Sad Wings of Destiny
Here Come the Tears from Sin after Sin
Their 80ies albums are a bit too radio-friendly in my opinion. Awesome, but maybe a little bit too commercial. Any fans of the Ripper Owens albums? I like them. Jugulator goes right to the throat, if you pardon the pun.

Sucks to be you huh? ;D We also got Lenny Kravitz and Snoop Dogg (your mileage may vary, though, on whether that's good or bad ). Getting back to Priest, but staying on the topic of video games, "You Got Another Thing Coming" is in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and "Breaking the Law" is in Scarface: The World is Yours. Are there any other games with Priest on the soundtrack?
