www.aintitcool.com/node/44524Not to sound like an overly sensitive fanboy, but I wish ALL Jedi corpses disappeared, so then George Lucas couldn't piss on them anymore than he already has. To those who can't access the link, here's the bare necessities: 1) Star Wars sitcom planned by LucasArts 2) Star Wars cartoon for pre-schoolers in development If there's one positive to all this, it's that the sitcom will involve Seth Green and Matthew Senreich of Robot Chicken, and "Daily Show" writer Brendan Hay. But the idea of a sitcom based in the Star Wars universe sounds like something that would get really old, really fast. There are only so many jokes you can make about the Force and lightsabers being a phallic object and a woman with big breasts looking like "a power converter with two Death Stars taped on it" or dudes being so horny they're about to blow up like Alderaan. I guess I am being too negative, but this really just comes across as a massive ploy to sell more merch. It's like WWE found a way to clone John Cena. Twice. "Begun, this Clone War has."

I actually like the sitcom idea, very few creators allow people to make fun of their work.

....and I think George Lucas has been in the Forbes Top 5 Richest People in Hollywood for the past 30 something years. I don't blame him for being really lazy since he probably has one of the most profitable and easiest jobs in the entertainment industry by far. He did earn that right for creating Star Wars and it's whole universe.

Bah, George filed for creative bankruptcy years ago. The last good film he made was the Third Indiana Jones movie, and even that is debatable. The man has been living off of his past successes for many years now. Granted, the work he has done is legendary, but it would have been nice to see him create a new series.

How about we see this stuff before we declare it the worst thing in the history of our sport. I know that's a strange stance to take on things these days, but post-viewing-judgment is still real to me dammit.

The cartoon is fine. It is what it is. Star Wars is slowly skewing younger and younger in terms of what age they want to appeal to. A sitcom, though? That just sounds really.....really stupid.

Personally, a sitcom set within the Star Wars universe sounds like a lot of fun to me.
Expect a new cast of characters, though. I doubt it's going to follow the further adventures of the film's heroes with a laugh track.

Everyone will complain about Star Wars having a sitcom until the giant novelty ACME anvil drops on Jar Jar's head.

It's his franchise, he can do what he wants with it. If people don't like it, don't watch/buy it.

Eh, it's George's property let him do with it what he wants. It doesn't destroy the awesomeness of his past work. So if he wants to do some Star Wars tv series, and make some more money, more power to him.

This is just more "Expanded Universe". Lucas has little to do with that stuff.

It's like Ron Moore said, "if you can't take risks with Star Trek, what can you take risks with (aisde from Star Wars)"

I LOVE the idea of a Star Wars sitcom. That being said a Space Ball's cartoon would have been cool as well, once. Then by the time it came out, it just plain sucked. Hopefully this idea plays out better.

Did they give up on making the live action Star Wars series that was announced along with the clone wars series? or is that what the sitcom is now?
