Watched the Utawarerumono OVA. I'd give it a 7/10 for story and animation, but I was really surprised at the fanservice it had. Then again, it's an OVA after all, plus the TV anime was based from a PC game that had... scenes. Using the music in the game was a nice touch, though. And the fanservice... was big.

Christmas comes every Thursday for me because that's when Shippuden airs. I really can't explain why I like this show, which is unusual for me. I think I'm going insane.

I see Romeo x Juliet is releasing. Took 'em long enough.
In H news, Bible Black: La Lanza de Longeus Third Sacrament is FINALLY getting released this month, God willing. Discode 1.2.3 is also releasing soon; somewhat interesting, but nothing too notable consider what it's up against.

Finished watching the first episode of Umineko no Naku Koro ni, and I have to say that it's probably going to be awesome. Well, I tried to memorize the names of every character, and failing since there were over ten people in just one episode... and then the number of people will lessen before I get the chance to remember all of them.
Anyway, it was a slow start, but near the end I could pretty much tell that it's going to start getting violent by the next episode. Like Higurashi, lots of blood and murder is expected. I'd give it an 8 for now.

Well, it took a while for me to find this in youtube: the extra scenes-things in the Code Geass DVD~!
Cross-dressing Lelouch, yay. And it's canon, too.

Now, I thought Haruhi's current "Endless Eight" story arc was pretty cool at first and it's somehow still mildly entertaining to me (probably because I'm a total no-life loser with nothing better to do than watch repeats of a single episode with minor variations for weeks)... but seriously, how much longer are they going to keep repeating this? I'm guessing eight episodes in total (hopefully "only" seven), but who knows.
At the rate we're going, the same episode will actually loop for 595 years or 15,524 times, whichever you prefer, in real time. This is either the most brilliant or the dumbest thing I have ever seen, and I'm beginning to think it's the latter.
And no, I'm not taking this as seriously as those comically angry fanboy otakus wishing death on KyoAni out there, I'm just wondering.

Well, it's either 8 or 7. It's an interesting idea, but at the same time it kinda makes my brain slowly turn into mush.

By the way, my next review after Katawa Shoujo will be done by Sunday, or I will eat a hat! Seriously, the hat-eating is motivating me since I don't want to eat hats.

You got drawn in by the really good storytelling and well-drawn characters that was the Asuma/Shikamaru/Atkatsuki arc, which was an island of good anime in a sea of boring, formulaic, and questionably homoerotic episodes that is the rest of the series. Face it, the best episodes of that show are the ones that don't involve the main character directly. It's the same way with Bleach. You know Ichigo is going to find a way to kill the other guy by somehow getting more powerful...or until something really cool happens. I was really digging the show before they switched to filler, because it gave the more minor characters a chance to shine in the big Espada fight.

Endless Eight is like the Space Ghost Coast to Coast episode 'Warren' when it first aired. It was the same thing over and over again, and lasted for hours. No commercial breaks.

The main character is painfully predictable and there's way too much filler. Also, why does Naruto have to be the Eugene-like idiot-savant? I really can't stand the dumb characters who always find a way to win. It's like if John Cena were a ninja. My problem with the character is that he's just not believable. My eyes nearly rolled out of my head when he killed Kakuzu. They could have made Shikamaru the main character and I would have been completely satisfied.

Yeah Naruto is not the smartest guy but he is good at fighting, and ever since Shippuden started Naruto has been alot smarter with his abilities, especially duing the fight with Kakuzu and Nagato. And he didn't kill Kakuzu technically

I guess as a smart guy myself I can't really sympathize with blockhead archetype protagonists. I sort of want to see Sasuke take Naruto's whole world apart the next time they meet. EDIT: And I still give Naruto credit for the Kakuzu kill. I'm not recognizing kill-snatchers like Kakashi.

And I'm right there with you on the Naruto = Cena thing. But if the show was about Shikamaru, it'd turn into something almost as annoying as Star Trek: Voyager. Something happens, there's a lot of talking, and the solution gets more and more lame as the series goes on. I think it's okay with Naruto as the main protagonist, because the cast of characters is large, and it's easy to put him on the shelf for a while and say "oh, he's training" while we have a story about one of the more interesting minor characters, only to have a Naruto run in at the end.
