Apologies for not posting sooner. (Niece's Birthday) ... This was an incredibly fun competition/game. The funnest of the three we've had so far imo. Many thanks to THE Baldy Kendrick for running this one soo organized, timely, and smoothly. It definitely added to a better experience. Also, the judges, by gosh, I love you guys. I think this was possibly the best set-up of judges for this competition yet. Results were sent in right away, and with a good balance of musical tastes. And I mustn't forget the other contestants. This competition imo, had the best batch of songs as a whole, from every single one of you. Without you guys, and the varied musical taste to share, I wouldn't of had this brand new mix cd I have here. === Unbelievable. I somehow won (Albeit the second time I played this game.) Stryker you are a great opponent. Trouncing me for I think four rounds straight, Keeping the #1 rank for so long with one point separating us til the finale, where I was thinking it was gonna happen again. Gotta give you a hand as well. ;D Congrats to Sudden Rush! ;D Thanks Mr. Stryker! This latest run by you, was just fantastic. You've really improved your game, since the last two. Your Selections, just hit, and hit, and hit, the bullseye every-time. Like many other "Buster Voodoo" was one of my favs. Your unique flavor was a great addition to this game. Your finale picks were great. I marked for "I'm Alive" for sure, a selection I would have choosen myself, and I really liked that you picked Stereophonics here. I had planned to use them sometime in this comp, but I'm very picky with deciding. And Nightswimming was a great choice. Also my original REM picks. But you know what hey say; Great Minds... congrats to rush, and FYI, i unwittingly was the lone public voter. :/ also congrats to stryker, great job. I am very surprised that nobody else voted in this other than you, and that's truly a shame. You became a defacto judge for this round as a result. However, I'm flattered after reading the spoiler results, about what went down with the "Public Vote" that you voted for each of my song choices. This would definitely raise eyebrows though, which took some of the satisfaction of that away but, I would never resort to pulling a Tonya Harding. It became a Bittersweet win in a way. After a few minutes of deliberation, I decided I’d add a little feature while we’re waiting for the picks to come in and get judged. As we’re wrapping up our third season of WC Idol, I thought I’d do a rundown of my Top 10 mark-out moments for choices in the past three seasons. The songs in this Top 10 either fall under the umbrella of legitimate marking out due to being such a fan of the songs already, or songs that I just didn’t see coming that I would have never thought to choose myself. However you quantify it, these songs really made an impact in the respective rounds they were featured. There may be songs that are “better” in terms of overall quality, musicianship, or whatever; but as fellow wrestling fans, you surely know a good “mark-out” moment when you feel it, right? I'll make one of these "Mark Out" lists too, but sometime in the upcoming season. So REM wasn't my first choice, but I'm not sure my first choice would have gone over all that well. I'm wondering, what it could be? Cause you know me, what wouldn't go over with other, I'd probably like. Maybe it can be a theme for the future? Strykerdarksilence, Sudden Rush... We have confirmation. If you would like, I will post the original post (with all the build-up and judge's comments) tomorrow, but I've kept you two in suspense long enough. You know it. (Woo Woo Woo?) Anything to get the most out of the game. I would really like to see the original write-up, before the controversy.

The rest of my song selection reasoning: Blues Traveler - "Crash Burn"I'll start out by saying, that the judges are absolutely brilliant with their totally different choices of artists in this finale. I was a bit iffy at first, that we were to pick from songs exclusively from one artist, but the artists the judges picked were just great. Blues Traveler was a great opening choice, by Jazzman. They really have a wide range of styles. John Popper just rocks. Well I picked "Crash Burn" because I have this things with enjoying live performance very much, and I tend to pick them often, cause you'll never know what you'll get. In combination with this first judge artist pick, it just fit perfectly. The Blues Travelers are well-known for standing out in their live performances. "Crash Burn" just worked for me on a huge level. Just the jamming and energy in that song was perfect. Watch John Popper again, Rocking out on his harmonica. Combine that with the guitar player, the bass player, the drums, and even Paul Sheffer giving a little impromptu on his keyboards. It just added together into just a fun, jamming session. Cyndi Lauper - "Change of Heart"Did you know Cyndi Lauper sings the Blues too? It's on her most recent album. Go check it out. Anyway. Pegasus, picked a truly great singer here. Ms. Cyndi Lauper is simply fabulous. I picked "Change of Heart," from a slew of several choices I had in mind. I already said my love for the acoustics. Sure it's not a total acoustic performance, since it was a bit more glamorous, but the things Cyndi does with her voice in this 'quiet' (I say that lightly) studio performance, is just superb. R.E.M - "Nightswimming" "Man on The Moon"OK. Nightswimming was my original choice, but Stryker already picked it. It's just a great quiet and peaceful song choice. Again, great minds... Well anyway I went with the live version of "Man on The Moon" because I've already confessed my love for live performances. If you listened to the original recording, you'd know it's like it's practically two different songs. The live version was the song, if it was injected with performance enhancing drugs. Just soo much more energy. This was my backup choice just in case, and I ended up using it. First off, the band and the crowd connection was great. Second, the song features Andy Kaufman and numerous allusions to Pro-wrestling including Classy Freddie Blassie, and Jerry "The King" Lawler's punch. So it could only help, that this was a wrestling forum. Third it's a fun song. And finally it has another of my favs being featured there, in Chris Martin, from the band Coldplay. In the end I figured Nightswimming would win the round, as I would have vote for it as well. The Verve - "Bittersweet Symphony" Well I was simply waiting to use this song for a while. This song was one of the choices, I had in mind in the full version for the Long songs theme. I just like the setup of the song, and even the message from it, when combined with the video. I think I hear a new song with a similar background like this song, playing on the radio every now and then. I hate it. (that new song) Bruce Springsteen - "Fire"I truly really like this song, and Bruce Springsteen is awesome live. Shame he doesn't have a real studio version of this song though. Sure the Pointer Sister's were popular with this hit, but "The Boss's" version is even better, he is the writer of the song after all. It helps that there is a cover of this song by Hawaiian singers, that has regular circulation on the island radio station here, to help me like this song even more. Also there was a completely different Fiery song by a another artist, I would have used, but didn't know how it'd fare here. Aretha Franklin - "Dr. Feelgood"OK. Just a great song, performed live, by the Queen of Soul. Just soo much Passion, energy, and talent all in one performance. Just like another of Aretha's songs, (Which I won't mention here, incase someone wants to use it for the future) It's Soul injected with Blues. I was gonna use this song "Dr. Feelgood" as yet another choice for the Blues songs, which included Cyndi Lauper too, or even the Old Songs theme. But I thought saving it for later would have been better, and it really paid off. Just like a comment from the video's link, when she hits the "I don't want me No Doctor" part, you just watch in awe. Just wow. Aretha truly deserves her title. Bob Marley - "Redemption Song"I purposely put this song last, because of the title, just incase I lose or something appropriate happens. Bob Marley is a Legend. Possibly the best know Legend musician to the populace of Hawaii. There is virtually no one who doesn't know about him here. I am included in that. Reggae is just great. It's not used much in this competition, and I figured this would be my chance to pull one out since Matisyahu. "Redemption Song" was picked because I didn't really go slow with any of my song picks for this finale, so I thought I would end the game with one. This is one of the more meaningful songs, in Bob Marley's song collection. And one of his most effective in that regard. === Looking back, I find it funny that I actually made it this far, and somehow pulled in the win, after not even signing up initially for this thing!! Gotta thank Pegasus Warrior for referring me to this one as the last minute sign up. Thanks Peggy! *Brofist*

I'm patiently holding back comments until what I thought was going to be "the big reveal" takes place.

I'm patiently holding back comments until what I thought was going to be "the big reveal" takes place. It did feel a bit anti-climatic. Which is why I too am looking forward for the original write-up, before the Public Vote Situation came up.

My belated congrats to you, Rush. You're actually one of my favorite players, even if I've been known to "Simon Cowell" a few of your choices. Stryker, you also have impeccable musical taste, so I think that you would make an excellent judge if a fourth season emerges. I'm wondering, what it could be? Cause you know me, what wouldn't go over with other, I'd probably like. Maybe it can be a theme for the future? Well, my first suggestion was Tom Waits, mostly because I wanted to pick someone a bit out of the mainstream. I was happy with REM, though, even if you both picked songs from the same album (although it is my all-time favorite album, so I let that slide ).

For space reasons, the intro was trimmed. The exit was just a different version of what I already wrote for the first post, so I trimmed that too. --- Round One was a matchup of songs from the artist of Jazzman's choice, and that choice was Blues Traveler. Stryker, you selected "100 Years." Jazzman called it "very smooth." Widow's Peak said it was "really nice." Pegasuswarrior raved about "that golden line-to-line bridge." Rush, you went with "Crash Burn." Jazzman called it "harsh at times [...] still solid though." Widow's Peak said it had a "great bar-blues feeling." Pegasuswarrior called it "musical fireworks to the max." After adding in the votes from Gus and myself, by a 3-2 margin, the first round goes to... {Spoiler}Strykerdarksilence. Widow's Peak and Gus were the dissenters. Stryker leads 1-0. Round Two was a battle of Cyndi Lauper songs, by choice of Pegasuswarrior. Stryker, your selection was "I Drove All Night." Pegasus called it "simply one of my favorite songs of all time." Widow's Peak is "actually offended when anyone else sings it." Jazzman said, quite simply, "I love this song." Rush, your choice was an acoustic version of "Change of Heart." Pegasus said that her vocals "close the gap between mortal and immortal." Widow called it "very catchy," and Jazzman called it a "good choice." After the votes of Gus and myself are included, the winner of Round Two, by another 3-2 margin, is... {Spoiler}Sudden Rush. We're tied at one. Widow and Jazzman were the voices of dissent. Last, but certainly not least, was Widow's Peak's selection of REM for Round Three. Both of you selected "Nightswimming," but Stryker submitted his pick first, so he got it. Widow called it "one of the loveliest songs about skinny-dipping ever written." Jazzman called it "a well-composed piece." Pegasus called it "a textbook example of what a song should be." Rush, your alternate pick was a performance of "Man On The Moon" which featured Coldplay's Chris Martin. Widow called it "not the best version." Jazzman disagreed, calling it "a classic for all times." Pegasus called it "a song everyone can (and should) sing along to." By a score of 4-1, the winner of Round Three is... {Spoiler}Stryker, who takes a 2-1 lead. Gus was the judge who kept it from being a unanimous victory. And now the fun begins. The rest of the way, our competitors were allowed to choose any artist, as long as they were still in play. Round Four featured Stryker's choice, Hurts' "Better Than Love," against Rush's choice, The Verve Pipe's "Bittersweet Symphony." Stryker, Pegasus called your pick an "enticing combination of hypnotic yet bold." Widow said it had "a very cool synch-pop sound," and Jazzman said it had an "awesome pull." Rush, Jazzman called your selection a "solid pick." Widow said it was "one of the most recognizable samples in pop music." Pegasus called the song "a music icon." Round Four was another round that went down to the wire. By a 3-2 margin, the winner of this round is... {Spoiler}"Bittersweet Symphony," which means we're tied at two. Pegasuswarrior and Jazzman were the ones who went against the majority. Roud Five features two acoustic performances. Stryker went with "Billy Davey's Daughter" by the Stereophonics. Pegasus called it "bare, vulnerable, and doggone effective." Jazzman said it was "the first real miss of the round." Widow's Peak called it "very smooth." The opposition for this round is Sudden Rush's pick of Bruce Springsteen's "Fire." Pegasus said it was a pick you'd make "when you're in it to win it." Jazzman said "while this isn't my favorite song, it's still awesome." Widow called it "very raw, but playful." The winner of this round will be one round away from the championship, while the loser will need to win the remaining two rounds to take it home. The person who takes a 3-2 lead into Round Six is... {Spoiler}Sudden Rush. "Fire" was a hot pick, winning unanimously. Round Six could decide this competition, and you both went to save your proverbial souls with some soulful music. Stryker, you went with Tom Jones' "Little By Little." It wasn't expected, as Widow called it a "very surprising pick" and Jazzman said it was "a pleasant surprise." Pegasus called it a "familiar sound from a familiar legend." Rush, you went with Aretha Franklin's "Dr. Feelgood." Widow said simply "what more can you say?" Jazzman called it "a song I adore." Pegasus said "just one dose and I'm ready to pay up." I don't need to tell you what's at stake. Rush, if you win this round, it's all over. Stryker, if you take it, we go to a decisive Round Seven. The winner of this round is... {Spoiler}SUDDEN RUSH! Congratulations, you are Season Three's WrestleCrap Idol! Stryker, I'm sorry, you played fantastic, but you ran into a couple of home run picks. You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Great job all around.
This round, like the previous one, is unanimous. And now the final matchup, Stryker's pick of Don Fardon's "I'm Alive" versus Rush's pick of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song." Stryker, Jazzman called your pick "a good choice, not great." Widow said the song "rocked my socks." Pegasus said the song "captures an era and captures me." Rush, when it came to your pick, Jazzman said "I can learn to love this." Widow called it an "excellent selection." Pegasus said the song "sweeps right in and lifts you up to the clouds." This is the last time I can say this, so let me have it. The winner of this round is... {Spoiler}once again, Sudden Rush. This time, Stryker did manage to pull in a vote from Pegasuswarrior.

Fantastic game, everyone. Fantastic job, THE Baldy Kendrick. I loved the format of that Final Round. That was a good idea. If she has time, I'd nominate Sudden Rush Sawyer to be next edition's host. One other thing about THE Baldy Kendrick. A lot of people just think this sorta fall together out of the blue. But the host was very gracious in how he treated the judges. Even though he's the moderator and technically in control, he kept all of us very involved. He was a great guy to run the game, and no one can deny that his write-ups are great. My only complaint about him is that he didn't jump aboard the judging panel. Not sure if that was a time factor or if he was just being humble. I thought it was the latter the whole time, and I just want to put this guy over for being for the good of the game and not in his own self-interest. On that note, the best thing about the first three seasons is how the game mods have made it a council. It's a nice balance like that, and it's probably the reason the game has lasted three seasons. Below is my running commentary per the request of THE Baldy Kendrick for The Final Round. There are a couple of one-liners in there for the winners that understandably had to be left out of the write-up that THE Baldy Kendrick posted. {Spoiler}#1. “100 Years” Oh my—that golden line-to-line bridge!
vs.
“Crash Burn” Musical fireworks to the max!
THE WINNER: “100 Years” The allure outweighed the prowess here
--------------------------------------------------------------
#2. “Change of Heart” Vocals that close the gap between mortal and immortal
vs.
“I Drove All Night” Simply one of my favorite songs of all-time
THE WINNER: “Change of Heart” A version of the song so good it overmatches my fanboy intuition
-----------------------------------------------------------------
#3. “Nightswimming” Textbook example of what a song should be
vs.
“Man on the Moon” A song everyone can (and should) sing to
THE WINNER: “Nightswimming” Too much balance and effectiveness to overcome
--------------------------------------------------------------------
#4. “Bittersweet Symphony” – The Verve 12 notes that made a song into a music icon
vs.
“Better Than Love” -- Hurts Enticing combination of hypnotic yet bold
THE WINNER: “Better Than Love” – Hurts I simply can’t look away or turn the music down on this one
------------------------------------------------------------------------
#5. “Bill Davey’s Daughter” – Stereophonics Bare, vulnerable, and doggone effective
vs.
“Fire” – Bruce Springsteen A song perfectly suited for a music contest championship
THE WINNER: “Fire” – Bruce Springsteen The kind of song you pick when you’re in it to win it
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
#6. “Little By Little” – Tom Jones Familiar sound from a familiar legend
vs.
“Dr. Feelgood” – Aretha Franklin You will never duplicate a performance like this
THE WINNER: “Dr. Feelgood” – Aretha Franklin Just one dose and I’m ready to pay up
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
#7. “Redemption Song” – Bob Marley Sweeps right in and lifts you up to the clouds
vs.
“I’m Alive” – Don Fardon Captures an era and captures me
THE WINNER: “I’m Alive” – Don Fardon If music video clips could speak, these would say, “We’ll put you over.”

Hey thanks Orange, Double H, and certainly not least Widow's Peak, and anyone else I've missed. I can certainly be up with hosting the next game, if everyone wants that. Although coming off THE Baldy Kendrick's hosting quality might make my hosting abilities seem a bit lack luster. Well that's what I think anyway. (Spread Sheet Graphic list, write-ups, ect ftw!) === The hard part for me, is selecting a judging panel. I'm not really quite up to the task of picking and choosing people for the roles, as I don't want to seem as if I'm favoring some people over others, and leaving some out. Now I've seen a few popular choices/nominations of who are likely to be good choices for judges, that I am very likely to consider. The problem I come across here is that the first two Idols, have already won the game, and it just doesn't feel right to me, for them, to regulate them back into the contestant role, after already earning their wins. So naturally the panel feels like the deserved place for them to be, in order to participate in this fun game. But then that just leaves room for less judges the farther along this game goes. We don't want too many, as then that means less contestants, and that's a bad thing. I think 4 should be the max, and 3 is the ideal number. I'm gonna have to think about this. In the mean time any suggestions on what to do here? Make your suggestions/comments in this thread or PM me. I'll post the upcoming Season 4 thread later today (this Labor Day) for sign ups. A general sign up for anyone who wants to participate in the game. I haven't chosen any judges yet, but they will be selected from the pool of people who sign-up, so make sure to sign up if you want to play! Let's get this thing started as soon as we can! (While I have time ) Well here it is... officialfan.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=forumgames&action=display&thread=306194
