Anyone notice the main eventers really stepped up there game in 00-01? I mean like in 99 it was alot of slow, punch-kick stuff and whatnot. Almost everyone in the main events (Austin, Rock, HHH, Taker, Kane) were having better matches. I remember HHH was the first champion of the Attitude I saw back then to really start having good actual matches all the time without a bunch of stipulations.
Were they actually trying to step up there game since all the new talent (Jericho, Beniot, Guerrero, Malenko) came in and were actually having good matches? Because before then we had Val Venis and Godfather having 2 minute matches in the mid card every week...

He was the "creative" guy, not a road agent or one of the guys upstairs.

Had nothing to do with russo and everything to do with the styles of the guys changing from a predominatley WWE style to some international flavored affairs

Also the brawling style of Austin was not really around at the time as he was injured.

I don't know why it happened, but I liked it.

Wrestling desperately needs another renaissance period like this, soon!
