Their first album, Bow Down, is considered a landmark westcoast album peaking at number 2 on the billboard top 200 and features the singles "Bow Down" and "Gangstas make the world go around". Their second album, Terrorist Threats, has Keith David as the narrator. On one hand, the first album has some classic songs. On the other hand, Keith David. This is a very hard decision to make.

"Bow Down," even though that's when Cube jumped the Shark for me. The "hip hop started in the west" logic was sjust too much. That and Mack-10 is hands down without hyperbole the absolute most overrated rapper of all time. If only this was an entirely WC record, the world would be a better place.

I voted "Bow Down" as it was a good album from top to bottom in a great year for releases that year, 1996. I understand that they were dominating all over but the East, but as stated above, there was a ton of competition in 1996.

Come on, surely there's gotta be more overrated rappers than Mack-10. I never really paid much attention to Westside Connection. Other than WC and various others, West Coast Rap has a tendency to be oversimplified. Even 2Pac had the same flows after 1995.

Granted, he's not really "rated," but the fact that when his name is mentioned people don't automatically spit on the ground and declare him the worst rapper of all time makes him overrated. He's really the only case of somebody getting put on JUST BECAUSE they were somebody's friend. Even considering the B-Legits, Mr. Serv-Ons, and Memphis Bleeks of the world, they all at least aspired to be rappers and just settled into a comfortable contract by way of being a bigger star's weed carrier. Mack-10 never paid dues in any regard and just coasted for over a decade on Cube's co-sign. To think of all the advantages this has got him, from obscene contracts when Cube was the *it* guy, to having an ENTIRE ALBUM PRODUCED BY MANNIE FRESH to everything else, and he's still awful. Granted there's no accounting for taste, but from a sheer analytical perspective he's got next-to-no personality, an atrocious flow, limited vocab, and a non-existant live show. The highest compliment anyone could ever pay a Mack-10 guest appearance is "well he didn't totally ruin that beat." This frustration is compounded when you think of how Cube could have given all of this to WC instead. Shame. Mack 10 - the worst widely-distributed rapper of all time.

I can't say mac 10 was that bad, because of the existence of u-god solo albums.

I dunno. Based on a True Story was a pretty solid album IMO. He's no WC, but i don't see what's so bad about him.
As for the question at hand, Bow Down, Hands Down. Easily the much better album. Solid from top to bottom. It just hits harder. The title track and Gangsta's Make the World Go Round are classics. And Hoo Bangin is one of my favorite songs ever.
Terrorist threats had a couple of decent tracks, but for the most part it seemed like Cube was trying way too hard to sound tough , and the album was just laughable alot of the time. Get Ignit and Potential Victims are just too hard to swallow from the guy who stars in Are We There Yet. Gangsta Nation is one of my favorite songs of the last 10 years though. Mostly due to the peerless WC and Nate Dogg.
