I dunno why, but I've always loved this. I know it gets a lot of radio play, but every time it does I can't turn it off. One of the few times a cover doesn't remotely sound like a cover to me.

I went off Nirvana a good long while ago, but this entire show is still amazing and I give it a watch every once in a while to remind myself just how special a band they were.

The song, and the whole DVD, are amazing. I used to listen to the Unplugged album pretty much every night when I went to bed.

Previous to watching/listening to Nirvana's Unplugged show, I liked them, but not enough to listen to entire albums or to go much deeper than "they were awesome, then disbanded due to Kurt's death".
Then MTV decided to release it on DVD and show it about 4 times a day on MTV Hits. Whoever decided to do that deserves a giant pat on the back.

It was part of Nirvana's remaining contract. They still had a certain number of albums to meet on the contract and this idea was brought up.

I really like this version, too. Especially 3:25.
But yeah, great cover and great show. Fitting "end" to Nirvana (even though they still had Live and Loud the next month, which was a great show). Really legitimatized them for the last time (as if they needed it), and showed that they were a great band, and not just some loud noise or whatever rotating criticism people wanted to throw out there...

^that's why Kurt picked the songs that he did. He wanted to be taken seriously. Although he actually wanted to be taken seriously as a songwriter which made it weird that he picked so many covers.

I am a fan of their studio work, but this entire show is the most amazing thing they ever recorded.

Nirvana's Unplugged show is one of the fineset concerts I've ever seen. Just wonderful from start to finish.

I'm not usually a fan of the Unplugged shows, but this was a huge exception. It was amazing and this song is one of my favorites and I like it even more than the original version.
It's heartbreaking that he went so soon. I just wonder how much great music we've missed because of it.
