For me, it begins and ends with the theme song of history teachers everywhere:
Frankly, I'm OK with the video, but the one that plays in my head is even better.

We didn't start the Fire is like a spiritual cousin to REM's It's the End of the World as We Know it. Both are basically just lists of things.
I love "For the Longest Time", hell I love most every thing he has done.
It is grate that he sang all 4 parts of that song too. He has a hell of a range.

Amazing artist who somehow doesnt quite get the credit he deserves (IMO, of course)
Kinda sad to see him now. Physically he looks like a parody of himself

"We Didn't Start the Fire" was the first song I remember hearing....ever. Seriously, there's a VHS lying around my house of me when I was a year old dancing and trying to sing the lyrics to the song.

By far his funniest music video ever:
I'm as much as a Billy nerd as anyone on this here forum, own all the albums (except Cold Spring Harbor), have the 30th Anniversary edition of The Stranger, and always thought 'Easy Money' off "An Innocent Man", an album full of songs that made greatest hits, was one of the best songs ever made.

I've got Storm Front in the CD player in my car right now. That album is just chock full of hits.

I've got Storm Front in the CD player in my car right now. That album is just chock full of hits. Yet that album, coupled with the 1986 album "The Bridge", are considered some of Joel's overall worst work. To be honest though, I adore Storm Front, just because its Joel's second most recent studio work coupled with hits that never will die.

I can't believe I actually left this song out, my absolute favorite song by Billy Joel
I love musicians that can do it all, and Joel is one of those guys. From the rock n' roll sound in 'Big Shot' and 'It's Still Rock and Roll to Me' to songs like this, just incredible.

Yet that album, coupled with the 1986 album "The Bridge", are considered some of Joel's overall worst work. To be honest though, I adore Storm Front, just because its Joel's second most recent studio work coupled with hits that never will die. "Storm Front" is worth it for two songs - "I Go to Extremes" and "And So It Goes." I consider the former to be the last great "80's song;" the kind of thing that should be played along "You're the Best" or pretty much anything by Survivor. The latter is simply a great song, period. It was also covered by the Navy. (I'm serious... And it's awesome. They also do a killer version of Queen's "Seaside Rendezvous," but I digress.) One more thing: About six years ago, I decided to complete my collection of Billy Joel albums. Since I didn't want to continue purchasing them on cassette tape - it was the 80's and besides, I was a kid - and didn't have the cash to buy the CD, I bought the missing albums on vinyl. At the same time, I started writing an incredibly depressing short story about a girl named Laura. After finishing said story, I decided to put on one of my "new" finds, which just so happened to be "The Nylon Curtain." It was the first time I ever listened to it, so I had no idea what to expect. After getting through "Allentown" - still not one of my favorites - I found myself on a track that I have never heard before: "Laura." I sat there in shock, playing the song over and over. It was my story, in music form! With the same damn name! What are the odds? The next day, I had my now-fiancée read the story, then I played her the song. To this day, she still believes that I based my story on the song, no matter what I tell her otherwise.

Doesn't Homer Simpson use one of his songs as "rebel music"?

Does anyone have the My Lives box set? How is it in terms of song selection? I'm thinking of getting it.
