I was at the park with my son, playing on the swings, and this really pretty lady comes up to the swings with her daughter, who picks the swing right next to my son. My son, who is girl-crazy at 4, starts flirting with her. Well, the mother goes over and sits down to remove something from her shoe, and my son points to her and says, "sit down Daddy!". He usually insists upon me pushing him the whole time when he's on the swings, so that just seems weird. I didn't say anything to the mother, and when her daughter had enough swing time, they start walking away, and Mom turns back my way, and smiles a smile I haven't seen in so many years I'm surprised I even recognized it. It was a genuinely attracted smile. I stood there surprised, because let's face it, I don't think of myself as attractive for a lot of reasons. But I smiled back, said bye, and immediately cursed myself under my breath for not talking to her at all while she was swinging her daughter. I mean, she was right next to me, for crying out loud. I don't know which is worse, being alone, or screwing up every opportunity that comes my way.

I'm sure she'll take her daughter to the park again soon.

You can't make it look like you're stalking her, but you *MIGHT* just have to stalk her. How are your stalking skills? ;D I kid....I wish you the best of luck with this. Hope you get another great opportunity with her.

I hate missed opportunities like this. I tend to mull over ones that were years ago and beat myself up about them. Hard to let them go, i think spending a lot of time alone makes it worse. So i guess just learn from it and next time the opportunity presents itself with this lady or another, just strike up a conversation and see where it goes. Always going to be better than 'what if'.

Hey man, back off your kid's Kool Aid. He was flirting with the little girl. If you land mommy, his little girlfriend will be his sister!

It's almost like your son was pimping you out, and you missed the oppertunity he gave with that woman.

Hey man, back off your kid's Kool Aid. He was flirting with the little girl. If you land mommy, his little girlfriend will be his sister! Oh, don't worry. He'll find another girl to flirt with. He's already got a couple of girlfriends at day care. And really, it's kind of a relief that he likes girls this early, because that's one really uncomfortable conversation I don't have to worry about having with him later on. Of course, I'm probably going to have to put bars on his windows, maybe a GPS on his ankle when he's a teenager.
