There's a McDonald's like that in Erie. It isn't bad, but the whole "hipster" vibe is ruined when six screaming kids run by.

I used to go to the nearby McDonald's sometimes for my lunch breaks at my last job and I noticed something funny. If I went through the drive-thru, my receipt would show a "drive thru tax." If I went in and ate, my receipt would show a "dine in tax." Never quite understood that.

Eh, I don't mind the changes. I never eat in, anyway, so it doesn't matter so much to me.

The one built in my town a year or two back is really close to the McCafe style shown. Only thing missing are the lounge chair and sofa. It's actually really nice that when I have time to kill when my dad is at PT, I can go across the street and relax, surf the net and drink some tea.

I'd be far more inclined to eat at one of those places than the current McDuck's setup. I'm not a fast food fan at all, but if for some reason, I do, I hate to eat IN them. Drive thru is the only way I'll do it anymore.
If McDuck's decided to make the interior more inviting like this, I'd be at least open to the idea of grabbing a burger and reading a newspaper on a barstool.

Considering that I just use the drive-thru when I go to McDonald's this doesn't really bother me all that much. It's still the same old slop. A turd wrapped in pretty paper is still a turd.

They've had that look for quite some time at the McDonald's near me.
It's pretty sweet looking... I've only ate there once though.

The one out here in Thibodaux, is like that. Hell some of the booths even have the touch screen games like you see at the bars (minus the naked lady games of course).

The local McDonalds here would never put the money in redoing the whole place so this won't effect me...

There's a local McDonalds here that has a fireplace in it. Another one has an indoor waterfall kind of thing on the wall. It's neat, but certainly doesn't make me go over there over somewhere that will probably kill me slower.

Most UK McDonald's have that setup, minus the "Linger Zone". I was there today!

My local McDonalds changed the look last year and honestly...it looks really good. Certainly makes me stay there a tad longer when I go there so yeah, it's done its job.

Almost all of the McDonalds around me are either in the McCafe set up or the High End McDonalds looks now anyways. Who cares? The food stays the same You'd be surprised how much decor and atmosphere can help a restaraunt. Especially when competing against it's peers. Sure, a really nice looking McD's won't make someone not go to the 5-Star place, but it will make someone not go to the run down looking Burger King or Wendy's next door.
