You'd be surprised how much decor and atmosphere can help a restaraunt. Especially when competing against it's peers. Sure, a really nice looking McD's won't make someone not go to the 5-Star place, but it will make someone not go to the run down looking Burger King or Wendy's next door. To this guy, the run-down BK will always beat the nice-looking McD's ;D

I like McDonald's for being what it is: Fast, easy, horrible slop of food. I don't want it to clash with "classy" decor.

They completely leveled my hometown McD's and rebuilt it, to look similar to those pictures. It's kinda nice, actually. The only time I really eat in is when I have the spare time and have my laptop with me, to use their net connection.

The 2 McDonald's built near me in the past 2 years are both the new style. They're really nice inside

A couple of years ago when I was in college, they tore down the McDonalds near my dorm, only to build one of these new ones in the same exact spot.

Really, if I wanted to eat in a place that looked like that, I'd go to...not McDonald's.

It isn't bad, but the whole "hipster" vibe is ruined when six screaming kids run by. LOL. You're damn right!

Yeah, all eateries have to update their dine in areas every so often. Given that McDonalds is the largest chain in the country, they should try many different things. I could see that some McDonalds get more foot traffic than others (College campuses and Old Folks Homes, for example, want to come in, eat either cheap food or have a coffee and a newspaper, you know, whichever.)

Are our restuarants becoming more sophicated or more adult intested?

Are our restuarants becoming more sophicated or more adult intested? Is it time for the return of the Arch Deluxe?

I think every McDonalds in my area has had the new look for at least a few years. It's a neat look, but whoever said the new environment vibe is instantly killed by screaming kids hit the nail on the head. At the end of the day, it's still McDonald's.

If I want some random thing I can't get anywhere else (I actually like McGriddles) I'll go there, but changing the restaurant seems like wasted money that they could be spending on actually improving the food. I don't care if the Wendy's next to it looks old and a bit run-down, I can get an actual burger there, so that's where I'll do more of my business.

Our local McDonalds has changed their look like that too. It's especially funny when you see chavs eating in there or, like someone said earlier, screaming kids running around.
The problem isn't the look. The problem is...it's McDonalds. Don't try to be something you're not.

This is great news for me, since I own a pair of the original arches. People have offered me $200-300 for that sign and I said no. Why? Because I knew the day would come that it would be worth a hundred times that. And that day is now destined to come sooner rather than later.

They've got one like that in Winnipeg, complete with TVs and such. And I must say, it's a nice place to just sit down and discuss matters.

I don't see a problem, it actually looks quite good. They usually look dirty.

I just find it funny that they have this design to try and promote themselves as classy and sophisticated...and then have an annoying-ass commercial about "Gimme back that fillet o' fish..." CLASSY. SOPHISTICATED.

I wish the Mcdonald's I work at looked nice like that, then maybe I would be more content in working there, instead of wanting to quit.
