So I've watched a few older episodes (like really early, first season If I remember right) of South Park which I really didn't care too much for, but I'd like to give it another chance and see if I can get into it. However, with all the episodes they have I really don't know what their general consensus "best" are, or just the episodes that you think are pretty great. So what episodes should I check out?

Awesom - O is one of there best episodes. its in season 8
Woodland Critter Christmas also from season 8 i thought was pretty good with the swerve at the end.
Casa Bonita from season 7 is also good just because of everything cartman does in the episode.
Cartmanland from season 5

Am I the only one who enjoyed The Passion of the Jew? Without breaking the religion rule, let's just say what they said about Passion of the Christ had me rolling and nodding my head in agreement.

My my, where to begin: Butters' Very Own Episode Scott Tenorman Must Die (this is a must) Goobacks Woodland Critter Christmas Make Love, Not Warcraft Good Times with Weapons The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers Over Logging The Losing Edge The Imaginationland Trilogy Cartoon Wars Pt. I and II The Ungroundable Stanley's Cup Christian Rock Hard Simpsons Already Did It Professor Chaos Kenny Dies (this is pretty sad IMO, just by the way they pull it off) Casa Bonita Die Hippie, Die The Death of Eric Cartman Trapped in the Closet Marjorine Mystery of the Urinal Deuce ManBearPig Super Fun Time (I personally like this one a lot) With Apologies to Jesse Jackson Butters' Bottom Bitch W.T.F. (for the all the wrestling fans ) Fishsticks *breathes in deeply* Yeah, so there you go. Although season-wise, I suggest checking out Season 6 in it's entirety like someone else mentioned. That entire season was great, and it "officially" introduced us to the very lovable Butters.

To be honest, there are very few episodes of South Park that I don't like.
If you do want a specific season, I'll agree with Doctor Doom and Redgrave on Season 6. Easily their best season.

i actually think South Park was best in its first season (though the show is still awesome). However, I will try to mix it up in my suggestions so I do not just name a bunch of early episodes.
An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig-Really early episode, but again really funny. If you didn't like the first season though, I wouldn't watch this one first, but it may be fun after you ease yourself into it.
Something You Can Do with Your Finger-This was one of the really good episodes made when the show was picking up some steam.
Scott Tenorman Must Die- This is one of the ones I would suggest starting with. It is not as good on repeat viewings, but I cannot imagine a person with a good sense of sick humor not loving this. One of my favorites.
The Death Camp of Tolerance- Another classic. The Mr. Garrison/Mr. Slave stuff is really funny, but if you don't have a really sick sense of humor, this is another one you might want to ease in to.
The Imagination Land Trilogy-If you don't start with "Scott Tenorman Must Die" then this is another episode (or in this case series of episodes) you might want to start with. Just wall to wall awesome.

Imaginationland.
Pandemic.
Woodland Critter Christmas. (Note: watch this before Imaginationland.)
Breast Cancer Show Ever.
About Last Night.
Chinpokomon.
Cartman Joins NAMBLA.
Butters' Very Own Episode.
The Coon.
Fatbeard.
Make Love, Not Warcraft.
Hell On Earth 2006.
Cartman Sucks.
Le Petit Tourette (although, I felt that the Dateline stuff was weak, but Cartman with Tourettes was great).
