We all know that the famous Ewok playset later became Sherwood Forest in Kevin Costner's Robin Hood toyline. But what other things have you observed from your kid years? Or hell, now? I know that Tim Murphy in the Jurassic Park line seemed to have Ripley's head from the Aliens line. And Ellie Satler from JP also shared Ripley's body. Ripley/Ellie would be bodysnatched again in the "Congo" toyline a year or so later, and that figure even included a repurposed Ripley's flamethrower as the infamous "diamond...laser...thing". A Congo offroad vehicle with some sorta net was also used in The Lost World's toyline. I may be wrong here but I think whoever Congo's main guy was also had one of the Space Marines' backpacks from Aliens. The Star Wars Episode II arena playset became Cobra Mountain later, in more recent years (complete with Star Wars creature bones still lying around). Pretty sure a lot of Robin Hood in general shared parts from Super Powers' Green Arrow, Star Wars, etc. Can anyone think of some others?

In addition to the Ewok Village/Sherwood Forest, I'm pretty sure the Ewok Battle Wagon got turned into a Robin Hood vehicle too.

Not really reusing it for a different franchise, but Kenner would often repaint the same vehicles and playsets for each Batman line. They used the same damn Wayne Manor/Batcave/Penguin lair set from Batman Returns for nearly every Batman movie and TV series until they lost the license.

Apparently the design finally changed for Batman Forever.

The Friar Tuck figure had a repainted Gammorean Guard body, and Robin Hood had a repainted Green Arrow body (complete with still-intact G belt buckle.)

Was it Kenner's Super Powers line or Toy Biz's DC Heroes line that had the Riddler that was an obvious Green Lantern repaint, ring intact?

Didn't a Kenner Super Powers Green Lantern figure end up as a Toy Biz Riddler at some point? In fact a few Kenner Super Powers figures ended up in Toy Biz's short lived DC Comics line (Penguin comes specifically to mind). Also that Super Powers Penguin was used in the Batman Returns line despite the Penguin having a drastically different look in the film.

I know this is slightly off topic, but this reminds me of the Jakks Blue Blazer figure that used The Patriot's head (with "USA" sculpted onto the mask, no less).

Also that Super Powers Penguin was used in the Batman Returns line despite the Penguin having a drastically different look in the film. Both Penguin and Mr. Freeze were reused with cheaper plastic for the Toy Biz line. I know because I owned those versions, having been too young for the original Kenner Super Powers line. The Mr. Freeze Toy Biz figure was kind of cool though, because you could put it in the freezer and turn it blue. And the Toy Biz Riddler was either a reused Flash or Green Lantern body, but I'm not sure which one. The repainting of the Super Powers/Toy Biz Super Heroes Penguin for Batman Returns was definitely ridiculous. I remember how badly I wanted the mutant Danny DeVito Penguin as a figure.

A lot of these are pathetically lazy, but I think I can top it for "I feel embarrassed for whoever made this" in the category of toys. What, you can't tell what this is? Why, it's John Connor. Or a guy about to rob a bank. Whichever.

But this was from Playmates Toys who also had the Star Trek Movie License that while the two Spocks looked like Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy the Scotty looked like Jim Parsons.

Mattel was even lazier. Nearly the entire Masters of the Universe line used the same molds.
