Not a phrase, but the word "schmup" for a genre of videogames that used to be called "Shoot 'em up". It annoys the piss out of me, and I'm not quite sure why.
Another gaming related annoyance is when people pronounce old system names like NES as "Ness" or Super NES as "Sness".

Another gaming related annoyance is when people pronounce old system names like NES as "Ness" or Super NES as "Sness". Oh God I agree 100% on the Ness and Sness, that irritates me a great deal. I'll also add in, "If you don't like ______ you have no taste in music/movie/literature/insert whatever here" I'm going to break my own rules because these aren't phrases, but two words that piss me off are "tight" and "fool" used in the sense of "dude that movie was tight" and "ain't nothin' to it fool". Both of those words in that sense should've died out in 2003 and I still here them used today. "We just died laughing" "That movie was UBER-awesome" I can't stand the word Uber, I absolutely hate it

"I'm just sayin'!" is pretty annoying.
Oh, and ending sentences with the word brother, dude, or jack, brother. >_>

*enters thread, says every phrase posted just for the sake of annoying poster of said phrase including the ones that will be said after this post, and exits* There, now no one'll come in and do it just for the sake of trying to be funny. Ha, like that'll stop them. "If you don't like ______ you have no taste in music/movie/literature/insert whatever here" That's indeed pretty bad, but what's even worse is "If you like ______ you have no taste in music/movie/literature/insert whatever here". Well f*** you good sir, I am NOT changing my tastes to please other people's self-centered mind. Anyway, as for phrases that annoy me: "If you want, you can." Look, I understand that it's supposed to be an inspiring message on the power of the will and about living your dreams... but I really, really want to shoot lightning out of my hands and resurrect the dead, yet I can't, so piss off. "Kids will be kids." In itself, I don't mind it, but it is ALWAYS used by irresponsible parents who think that kids being kids makes education useless and therefore they aren't responsible for any bad thing they do (including felonies or even crimes in some cases), and neither are their kids, of course. Sure kids will be kids, but kids with good parents will be kids who don't stab their schoolmates with a kitchen knife. "Cena wants to learn ______ but Cena can't learn more than 4 moves!" Ironically, Cena haters can't learn more than one joke.

"I like you as a friend."
Why don't you just come right out and say "I'm not attracted to you" and get it over with because, news flash, women have no idea how to let someone down easy.

We get this far and no mention of "epic fail" or "pwned" or anything like that?
I got some friends on Facebook that always plug the words fiend, joke and fluff in random places and think it's so gawddamn funny, and they've been doing it for YEARS (I bet I could get on right now and see them using it on somebody's wall). And then they turn around and did a video not too long ago harping on Chuck Norris jokes and about how it's paid for the "foundation of old things that weren't funny the first time so shut up about it already". I remember just thinking "...uhhh...you guys have NOOOOO room to talk whatsoever about jokes that are old and weren't funny the first time". They're good people and whatnot, but still...

"Welcome to the world." Because someone usually says it when your down and pissed off. It just makes you more and more pissed. That's when you punch them in the face and say "Welcome to Earf!" This bugs me too (particularly "shmup"). But along the same lines, whenever anyone uses Internet meme-speak in real life. It doesn't make you sound cool. There's a reason people on the Internet say it in the first place...because it's NOT cool! I've heard people say "Fail" out loud and it makes them look dumb. Also, saying "lol" or "lulz" out loud. If it's really that funny, then laugh!

Seriously. I just want to tell people to f*** themselves when they say "It is what it is". Yeah, this phrase makes me want to kill. This is precisely why I greet people with "mornin'". The only good morning is the one you get to sleep through. Unless you wake up sandwiched between two supermodels.

Well, just about everything said above for me. One hear a lot makes no sense to me. Is people who letters to store names. Mainly any store that ends in Mart. They would say on the phone "I'm at Stein Marts".(Where I work.) or they ask me were another stein marts is? "Then I hear the same thing at Wal Mart. They call it Wal Marts? I don't get the extra "s" added to it. There not store right where your standing at.

Adding 'gate' to the end of whatever scandal is in the news.
It was WATERGATE HOTEL. WATERGATE IS ONE WORD!
If you were being really anal with the application, it would be 'Hotel' after the scandal.
