Ok, I was thinking of the inevitable showdown between Hogan vs Flair. How can it be done without being a rerun, possibly hurting either one of them, and benefiting other people on the roster?
Here is step one: Put AJ Styles in a feud with Abyss. Have Bischoff at some point fire Abyss, only to have Abyss come back and beg for his job. Bischoff hires him back only to make him do menial tasks. Meanwhile continue the whole Styles/Flair relationship.
One month later
First make it seem like BOTH Styles and Flair will turn face by letting them do title defenses with clean finishes...Flair having mild changes of heart and basically steering AJ to do the right things. Have AJ be resistant the whole time. One example would be AJ cheating to win a match, then trying to beat the opponent after the match, only to have Flair pull him away, stuff like that.
Have Bischoff turn on Hogan by basically finagling his power away. Bischoff then makes Abyss jump Hogan for a promise that he will be allowed to do more things in TNA, like possibly wrestle a title match. Hogan is then injured for a brief period and kept off TV for a few weeks, especially during the PPV where...
Abyss is given a title match at said PPV as a result of his injuring Hogan. During the Abyss/Styles match, Abyss should have the match won, only to have Bischoff come out and nail Abyss with a bat or something. Styles makes the pin and Abyss kicks out. AJ Grabs the bat, hits Abyss and gets disqualified. He goes to hit him again but Flair stops him. Bischoff meanwhile jumps on the apron and gets face to face with Flair, only to be punched. Styles would then attack Flair with the bat to reveal he and Bischoff have been working together the whole time.
The next Impact would have Flair come out to challenge Bischoff in a one on one match, which would lead to both Styles and Bischoff coming coming down, only to be interrupted by a returning Hogan, who comes through the crowd and slides into the ring to back down both Styles and Bischoff.
Bischoff and Styles are in the back talking, and Styles refuses the match citing that he 'doesn't wrestle senior citizens'. Bischoff concludes that no one else should be forced to, thus he decides to put Flair in a match with Hogan at the next impact.
After the promo for all this is shown the next week, Bischoff should come to the realization that people will turn their channels on the Hogan/Flair match, and he needs to find a way to make it interesting.
Afew segments later he should run into Vince Russo backstage while Russo is leaving the bathroom with a newspaper. He should ask for a few moments of his time because 'he has a booking' dilemma.
After the first hour is over it is announced by Tenay and Taz that the Hogan/Flair match is now a 'Geritol on a pole match'.
The match should feature a run in at random by AJ Styles who is then fought off by both Hogan and Flair. Then we should have a second run in by Bobby Lashley who attacks both guys from behind and leaves them laying. Styles joins in, gets the Geritol and acts like he is going to shove it in both guys mouths, only to have Abyss come out and save the day.
Then at the PPV we have Hogan/Flair vs Lashley/Bischoff and an Abyss v.s. Styles rematch in a gimmick match.
Thats how I would do it anyways. How about you?
