That's part of the problem as well. He should have done something worth mentioning. He's a former WWE World Champion, who a few short months ago was at the peak of his popularity carrying what was considered to be the best wrestling show on TV at the time. Unless he isn't there to stay, they should have done something to expose him more, rather than the have the washed-up brigade start a storyline about young guys and control of the company once again...yawn. Except the night wasn't about him or any one of the people that showed up. It was about Hogan coming in and all the changes he's gonna bring to the company. This is where I have to ask why they are even doing the storyline with Hogan which is basically MEM/Frontline again, with a 'YOUNG GUYS ARE THE FUTURE!!!!!' storyline only with Hogan and Jarrett as figureheads rather than do something with a current main event guy that carried Smackdown and main evented Summerslam only a few months back. They have a current, main event level draw, and he's burried in with all the other debuts. All the other debuts make Jeff's look less special, where as he should be treated as a huge deal. Use Hogan sure, and have Hogan say he's signed the biggest free agent in wrestling, and link Jeff with Hogan. Don't link him with Shannon Moore, even if they are real life friends, because Jeff is a far biggest deal than Shannon and is being dragged down as a result.

I'm guessing concerns over his legal issues is why TNA downplayed his appearance last night. They allowed him to show up in the first hour, a time when they knew many WWE fans would be watching, and have a nice moment, but didn't invest anything of real value into his appearance.
Pretty smart if you ask me.

A one-off appearance for some quick money, quick ratings for TNA, and a job for Shannon?
He'd be a complete loon to turn his back on the WWE after all they've done for him.
But yeah, I agree, if he's a full time acquisition then they've just wasted his debut.

I think the fans might have cared more if he had real music.
Seriously, that new theme is going to kill like 2/3 of anyone's potential pop or excitement. =P

The funny thing about Hardy is, it's a lose-lose situation for TNA. If he beats the drug charge and comes back to work full-time with TNA, then, as has been mentioned, they killed his debut Monday.
However, if the man is found guilty then, assuming it's a per appearance deal, they save money but WWE has a ton of ammo to throw at any hearings. "When he worked for us, we suspended him if he tested dirty, then as soon as he left our employ, he was arrested for a possession of a huge supply of drugs, and TNA signed him anyway".
THat's bad press. TNA signs wrestler under indictment for drug trafficking will be the headline, and that's never a good thing. You pop a rating, or at least have the chance to do so, but at the cost of negative publicity.
