That the first hour of Impact was made to look like a convoluted s***pile so Bischoff and Hogan could come out, rip the program up and say, "We're here to save the day!" so to speak?
I kinda feel like that was the whole purpose. To get them over quickly, and then have a great show. The only problem was, the show afterwards wasn't the best they could do. It didn't knock anybodies socks off, but I watched both RAW and iMpact, and I think that when it comes down to the SHOW, not the opening segments, that TNA was a more entertaining show.
Not to mention, getting Bischoff over as a face and then watching him cheer the nWno at the end of the show smells like they were trying to get a swerve over. Thus ending the show with the beginning of the divide between the heel nWno and the clearly tweener Hogan (you can't get over trashing Jarrett. He's bulletproof in the iMpact zone).
Maybe I'm crazy. I just feel like that first hour was SO bad that they wanted to play up the TNA Saviors deal.
Thoughts?

I don't think so. i think they just horribly botched the Steel Asylum match from a booking standpoint. Overall the show was pretty bad but it wasn't completely awful. I have read next week's spoilers and I won't say anything but it looked much better compared to the Monday Impact.

Yeah, I read them too. It wasn't the follow up I expected, but it does sound entertaining.

I know some people didn't like it but I thought Main Event Mafia was a great storyline that worked for the most part.(only bad thing about it was TNA Frontline kind of falling apart.) I know people still think Hogan is "in charge" but I'm still not buying it. I think most of it is a work which is exactly why they brought in Hall, Waltman, and The Nasty Boys.

Part of me believes that just building up with the homegrown talent is something I'd like to see instead of the old guys coming back. Then the other part is like "Hell yeah! I love reliving my childhood!"
Regardless, I'll be watching bits and pieces of iMpact for a while. A move to monday would be a dream for me because of the simple fact that it will cut the garbage clean out of wrestling. WWE's become complacent, and an alternative would make them shape up in a jiffy.

I thought it was interesting they blew off the gimmick matches after the steel cage debacle.
The first sign of Russo being on a leash should be a noticleable lack of gimmick matches.
But you don't screw up a free hour without RAW to prove a point. The Asylum and women's title matches were just badly booked. They definitely picked things up in the next two hours compared to that first hour. Three "live" hours is just too much for them to handle right now.

I'm very very sure they never planned on doing a barbed wire or full metal mayhem. That was one part of the show that i thought was stupid. Why announce big matches for that nigth if you are only going to replace them with regular matches? It was crap.

The first sign of Russo being on a leash should be a noticleable lack of gimmick matches. This show was every Russo cliche marching in parade. Insider references, sex-based angles with no real value or payoff, "shades of gray", clustermess matches, pure crash TV. For all his criticism of Russo, Hogan managed to out-Russo him.
