Man, this pisses me off!!

When I was a child, I used to play with my mom's old 45's & a record player, pretending I was a radio deejay. I did this numerous times.

When I got older, I used to make mix tapes for myself where I pretended to be a deejay, doing a Top 20 countdown show.


I attended college, where my major was broadcasting.

I have interviewed & even auditioned for over half the radio stations in my area.

I have been "loyal" (so to speak) to the same s****y job going on 16 years, where I have received 4 promotions & numerous raises & I am at the point where I can't move up anymore unless I want to take a salaried position.

My brother is 3 years older then me. He has had close to 4 dozen jobs since high school (circa 1989). He has worked numerous fields, such as real estate, animal control, bar manager, promotions manager, bartender, etc, etc, etc.

And I just found out today that he now is a part time weekend deejay for a radio station.

WTF!!!

Yes, I admit I am jealous. That has been my childhood dream! That's what I went to school for!

AND HE'S LIVING MY DREAM!!

Can you honestly blame me for being pissed off?

I actually have more experience in the field then him.

He is the most irresponsible person I know. He hides his car because he has a repoman looking for it....again. This isn't the first vehicle this has happened with.

I am a homeowner, he's a renter. I have a steady job, he jumps from job to job to job to job & works 2 jobs at a time. I have a family, he tries to pick up girls via myspace & Facebook that are over 10 years YOUNGER then him.

I am responsible, he's not.

I know I got it better then him, but I spent thousands of dollars to go to college for broadcasting & I am a freaking manager in a grocery store. Yep, got me somewhere.

But I am still allowed to be pissed off because he is working my dream job & he knows it's my dream job!

Prime example of "it's not what you know, it's who you blow." Same type of thing happened to me, went to school for web design only to find friends of mine who picked up odd web design jobs off the street while I slave away in an oatmeal factory. It's a big load of BS.

Funny how things work out. But look at it this way: if he's never in jobs long then maybe his position will be open soon? And who better to fill it than his more responsible brother with more experience? Or maybe he could fill you in on any other openings there and help you get them?

Oh yeah, my brother help me....HA!

Hell, the guy won't even add me on Facebook let alone call, visit....hell, I don't even remember the last time he actually acknowledged his neice on his own without being at my mom's house.
