I don't care what people think of the show. I had a fun time watching it. I went crazy for seeing guys like Matt Sydal and Jack Evans on my television screen. I also marked when New Jack was on the first episode.

It was fun, spotty craziness, but it ran for just about the right length.

The only reason I cared about it is because Colt Cabana was on the show, other than that, I thought the production was extremely cheesey.

It was reallly cheesy but I had fun with it. I still remember watching that first episode and my roommates and I marking out during the battle royal mostly just from the roster. It was also my first exposure to guys like Joey Ryan and Tyler Black, so I give it a thumbs up. I still watch it from time to time when I'm sick or snowed in for a couple hours. It was a fun time.

I need to find a place where they sell the season boxset. I heard there is so much to it like everything behind the show. I also liked the last episode with the exploding deathmatch with Team Dragon Gate. It was pretty cheesy, but it was fun to watch.

The thing I liked most about WSX is the tag team division that they were building. So many good teams with great gimmicks, they would have put WWE & TNA to shame if they'd of continued.

I agree with the tag team division point. They really did take more of an old school approach of building up a tag team division. Too bad that was like their only good thing about them.

I felt they had a few good matches on the show.

Sucks MTV pulled the plug like they did. They didn't even bother to tell the producers, they just pulled it and, started advertising for ads for the new show.
I hated it at first but, after watching the marathon they did once, I grew to like it. It wasn't going to be the next big thing but, was an opportunity for some talented guys to get a steady paycheck and exposure.

I vaguely remember it. Didn't they have CGI effects in the matches? And a match involving a piranha tank?

I bought that at Best Buy for 15 bucks It also has a Cage of Death match from CZW featuring Ruckus,Evans and Webb plus an XPW match with Kaos and IWA-MS match with Mickie Knuckles

WSX was a great, but failed, experiment in the wrestling business. I never got to see any of the episodes when they originally aired beyond the first one or two but even when I watch the DVD, I can tell it wasn't going to work just because you can't run a good wrestling show in 30 minutes, especially when you devote the opening to some crappy bands that no one cares about, no matter how fast you speed things up. They had a ton of great talent, great characters and some decent storylines (especially if they would've made it to Season 2) but it would've never worked in that format.
But yes, the DVD set is a must-buy, especially for the special commentary with the bookers. My favorite part was in Episode 1 where they expose New Jack's guitar. Originally, it was supposed to be filled with powder that would explode upon impact, as usual. But they couldn't find anything but Sweet and Low packets. So they had one of the stagehands open up all these sugar packets and pouring them into New Jack's guitar. It didn't take too long for them to give up and just throw the entire packets in! Of course, I didn't even notice it until it was pointed out in the commentary, due to the rapid-pace editing.

Yeah I think they used some CGI and they shook the camera during the explosion parts.
One of the worst parts of this was the ring announcer, that dude from XPW that went under the name of "Fabien Kaylene".

I loved WSX from beginning to end. To me, at the time, it was the perfect wrestling show capturing both the spectacle and the "comic book" nature of it all. I loved the explosions and camera tricks and stuff. And I'm a huge Fabian Kaelin mark, mostly thanks to the fact that he took the time out to message me on myspace back after the show was revealed to be cancelled, thanking me for my kind words. That dude was just as much a part of the experience as anything, he was sort of a metaphor for the descent into insanity that the whole short lived series encompassed, each episode he got a little crazier.
And the electrified exploding time bomb cage match was amazing.

Awful, awful, awful, awful, awful show. I'm glad the wrestlers got paid, but I thought the show was godawful.

I thought it was fun show were you got to see face paced action that was a nice change of pace from watching WWE for me.
It did have some older guys, but mostly younger guys that I've never see and sadly will probably never see again because I don't watch to much indie stuff
Also I believe that if given an hour an episode and maybe cut down on some of the cheese it would've beat TNA.

I loved WSX. It was wacky, cheesy, goofball fun combined with some great matches. The one thing I like the most about it was 30 minute episodes. Instead of trying to fill 3 hours with a mediocre product they instead put the best stuff in a 22 minute time frame.
