I bought the DVD set. The wrestlers and gimmicks seemed really entertaining, but the camera work and editing of the show really turned me off to it quickly. High spot, cut to crowd reaction, high spot, cut to crowd reaction. The shows seemed to look more like highlight reels rather than a wrestling matches. Gave up on it after about the 5th or 6th episode.

The only reason I cared about it is because Colt Cabana was on the show, other than that, I thought the production was extremely cheesey. No, he was supposed to be in Season 2. Colt never appeared in Season 1.

This was the wrestling equivalent of Chinese Democracy.
Overcooked, overproduced, featuring people past their prime and utterly utterly ridiculous, but still an enormous amount of fun all the same.
I loved this show and have the DVDs. That hardcore rumble on the first episode was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, and there was the piranha death match.
Oh and it features the greatest line of commentary ever: "THEY BLEW UP THE REFEREE!"

P.S. It also had the worst ring announcer in the history of the business.

One of the worst parts of this was the ring announcer, that dude from XPW that went under the name of "Fabien Kaylene". P.S. It also had the worst ring announcer in the history of the business. BLASPHEMY! BOTH OF YOU BLASPHEMY! MAY THE WRESTLING GODS STRIKE YOU DOWN FOR SUCH TALK! FABIAN KAELIN IS THE GREATEST RING ANNOUNCER OF ALL TIME AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT! [/Mark] I loved WSX. It was cheesy sure. But it was so oddball that it became addictive just to see what stupid character/match/gimmick they'd put out next. And some of the matches were actually good tv type matches. Plus it had the Filth and the Fury. My 3rd favorite tag team of all time. And Fabian Kaelin. God I love Fabian Kaelin. Just hearing him go f***ing mental as he introduced everyone was the highlight of every damn show.

No. Matt Classic is one of the greatest old-school wrestlers in the history of the world. He sank into a coma some time ago and emerged in today's wrestling age. Colt Cabana is a former 2-time ROH Tag Champion with a very powerful ass that can send people through cages. Matt Classic =/= Colt Cabana

I really liked Vampiro on there because every time he came out I was aloud to yell VAMPIRO! VAMPIRIO! VAMPIRO! Just like the good old days.

Matt Classic made that show work He did make up for the horrible announcing. It would have been great to see him and Sydal work together

Those of you with the DVD, do yourselves a favor.
On the DVD there's a special feature, I forget exactly what it's called right now, but it has Fabian "Get it??? Kayfabe??? Please someone like me!!!" Kaylan cutting this long-winded, God awful promo about how no one likes him. Then he cuts out his own tongue.
HE CUTS OUT HIS OWN TONGUE.
I really did not care for him as an announcer whatsoever.

I loved WSX from beginning to end. To me, at the time, it was the perfect wrestling show capturing both the spectacle and the "comic book" nature of it all. I loved the explosions and camera tricks and stuff. And I'm a huge Fabian Kaelin mark, mostly thanks to the fact that he took the time out to message me on myspace back after the show was revealed to be cancelled, thanking me for my kind words. That dude was just as much a part of the experience as anything, he was sort of a metaphor for the descent into insanity that the whole short lived series encompassed, each episode he got a little crazier. And the electrified exploding time bomb cage match was amazing. I agree 100% and Fabien was a great guy took the time to talk to me too! Great guy, truly a class act!

Yeah, count me in as a Fabian Kaelin mark as I've dug the man's work since his XPW days as GQ Money and seems like a stand-up guy to boot.

I was excited for it going in and sad to find out it got cancelled like it did. I watched every episode aired when they aired.
Took me forever to track down the damned dvd in stores after it came out. Distribution in my area of dvds not done by WWE is horrible. And even those can be hit & miss.
I might watch it over again tomorrow. This thread makes me wanna see it again.

. I might watch it over again tomorrow. This thread makes me wanna see it again. Same, assuming theres a good bit of it online, I havnt watched it since it was on TV but I remember it being an enjoyable mindless thing to watch and caught it most weeks. Id especially like to see it now considering Ill know who way more of the wrestlers are in it. How many episodes were there anyway?

The only thing that disappointed me about WSX was the Piranha Deathmatch. They used a tiny little tank! I wanted a HUGE pool full of Piranhas!! That would've been a Piranha Deathmatch.

This show made me mark hard for Teddy Hart even though a lot of people hate him. I think he's amazing in the ring.

Loved it. I gladly watched it over what WWE and TNA were churning out at the time.
Hell, I'd probably still take it over what they're churning out NOW.
