In the Sheamus/Bourne non-match, as soon as Sheamus's music hit, I thought "again?" Could they not have gotten somebody else to get crushed by Sheamus? I know Bourne makes everyone look good, and doggone it if he didn't make it look like that bicyle kick broke him in half, but Sheamus has already destroyed Bourne twice before tonight. Get somebody else in there to take a squash.

Still, like you said, Bourne is a good crashtest dummy, so he was a good person to showcase Sheamus.

He didn't pin Bourne so it didn't bother me. What did bother me is that MITB isn't getting as much hype this year, certainly from the RAW brand, no Christian, Swagger or MVP in sight.

They really should have used Primo instead of Bourne. At least Primo isn't in Money in the Bank.
And if they wanted Bourne in the match, just book it like their first match. Yeah the match was less than 3 minutes, but it was freaking entertaining and you thought Bourne was going to win. Or have Triple H interfere, causing Bourne to win.

I think you pretty much answered your own question. Nobody could make Sheamus' offense look more devastating than Bourne does.
BTW, Christian and Swagger are both on Superstars this week. MVP must've got the week off or something.

Bourne was semi-protected last night, but yeah, they could have used Yoshi instead.

I was thinking this earlier, but then I figured that this year there are a lot of actual matches that need to be hyped, where as before because of injuries etc the MITB has been one of the big draws in itself, so deserves the hype. This year it's still a draw, but it's more about getting guys onto the card who haven't got a big match rather than being one of the biggest selling points in it's own right. BTW, anyone love the heat Sheamus got when his music hit? If anyone still tries to persist to say he isn't over or that bad booking has ruined him, please just don't. It will be a lie.

OMG! They did Sheamus/Bourne again? That's awesome. They should declare it a best of seven series, like Benoit/Booker T.

As silly as that was, they needed someone small enough that Sheamus could kill them in seconds after that cheap shot without it making them look like shit, in order to do the awesome mid-promo squash thing.
Christian, MVP, and Kofi have all been built to the point where you'd expect a longer fight, even when taken by surprise. Chris Masters and Mark Henry are both big power guys, and it'd kill what heat they have to be taken out that fast. Santino is... Santino.
Yoshi might've been a good pick, but he's only just been moved to RAW, so it might be better to hold off on letting anyone, even a main eventer(ish), beat him up that fast. Maybe Primo, but he seems to have vanished save the occasional Superstars match.
Bourne is a selling machine. He can make himself look crippled from any offense, and stays over while doing it. At least he's getting air time, and it wasn't presented as a fair fight.

And according to his entrance music, there's already too many of those.

Pretty good run down of their options and reading it made me think why not turn Chavo face for putting over monster heels in the future? I assume he doesn't have many years left (far less than Bourne anyway), has little heat to lose after the hornswoggle debacle and has the respected veteran thing that Dreamer had before retirement. Also inbetween putting over the new hosses he could have a nice push as a fan favourite as a thankyou for his years of service. I do concure with most that Bourne is a really good seller of moves though.

'tis Bourne's fate. In a promotion that's light heavyweight / heavyweight friendly, cruiserweights will always be match fodder.

I'm one of the biggest Bourne marks on the planet, but I gotta admit... The kid's one hell of a jobber. He's amazing at selling a beatdown.
I wish they could have used somebody else, but at least I get to see the kid on my TV. Even if I wanted to punch said TV the moment Sheamus's music hit.
If Bourne jobs next week when I'm at Raw, though, somebody will pay.

I'd like to see a turn of events, where you could swear Sheamus is gonna kick a guys ass, but he gets his ass kicked instead.

My thinking is Borune>Primo in terms of who do you want to see on your TV. I mean if it was Primo I think alot of people would've been "f*** this" *click*. So it needed to be a guy like Bourne who is over and will make you more likely atleast in my opinion to keep watching.
