I see it as a ploy to get you pumped up for the show. They show all the clips so fast and play the sound bites so that it hits you and makes you ready to watch the show.

This is exactly what it should do. It's even more dramatic when youre at a taping and it plays. I went to a 2002 Smackdown and 2003 RAW, and once you saw the "Entertainment" intro, you knew shit was gonna go down.

It's no different than the studio logo at the start of a movie. It has a 'shut up everyone, the show is starting!' effect.

It's no different than the studio logo at the start of a movie. It has a 'shut up everyone, the show is starting!' effect. I know that. But Warner Brothers doesn't have to re-edit their open every two months because one of their actors is doing another movie for another studio. Again, I don't want to see the opens just go away. I like the idea of the opening, and this one was an amazing idea...when they first did it. My point was, they might want to think about doing an open that's a little less personality-centric, as they've had to keep fixing it, and it looks more and more awkward with every passing attempt. Just do what TNA does, show the wrestlers on the roster at the time with a generic voiceover. Or come up with something that doesn't make it look as pieced together when you have to remove someone. Or, like others have said...just let it go, WWE. Acknowledge your past and be proud of it. No one's gonna suddenly turn the channel to TNA because they see a second-long shot of Ric Flair.

The 'excuse me!' one of these was nothing short of brilliant. Made even better when considering people thought it was real when it first hit these boards.
But I like it, it reminds people at the start of the show why they liked wrestling in the first place when they were younger and gives you a glimpse into who the company think will be big stars in the future.
And while people may not switch over just because they see a small clip of Ric Flair, imagine if they left it completely as it was so Jeff Hardy, Hogan, Flair and anyone else that has moved to TNA were still in the intro. Then you just send the message that half of what WWE considers to be it's biggest historical figures can be watched with a simple channel flick to Spike.
