The Orton Pose is great, but Randy Orton looks a million times cooler wearing Elbow Pads, especially WHILE doing the Orton Pose. Why did they get rid of them? Orton in elbow pads was badass.

Don't know about Orton's elbow pads, but I've always wondered why Cody Rhodes doesn't wear knee pads? Honestly, doesn't it hurt like hell if you drop on the floor/mat without them?

Well, the E has a safer style, but not wearing knee pads is still pretty hardcore. As for the reason, who knows? Maybe he found wearing the knee pad uncomfortable.

Cody has knee pads, but he wears them just above the boots, under the knee, like Ric Flair used to... right? Or am I seeing things?
Still... it's like when Trish used to carry her cowboy hat to the ring with her... what's the point?

Don't know about Orton's elbow pads, but I've always wondered why Cody Rhodes doesn't wear knee pads? Honestly, doesn't it hurt like hell if you drop on the floor/mat without them? answered by Lance Storm: Q: As of late, I have noticed some wrestlers (Cody Rhodes and Finlay for example) wearing what appears to be their kneepads below their actual knees, instead having them on their shins. I don't see them pull them up at any time during their matches either. What is the point of this? It seems it would be useless to wear pads if you don't use them how they're meant to be used. A: I always get a kick out of this question and have answered it a couple of times. There are 2 basic reasons for wearing your kneepads just below the knees. The first is that it helps cover the fact that you have skinny calves, the other is that unless you do splashes off the top etc. below the knee is actually where you need the padding. If you drop a knee or even just kneel in the ring what part of you is touching the mat? You don’t kneel on your knee cap it’s more the top of the shin / bottom part of your knee that touches the mat, so that is where the pad should be.

I read an interview with Cody and he gave a few reasons for not wearing knee pads, one of which was that it was a throwback to the past where not many people wore them. I do think that a part of him is trying to hide how skinny he is - he's getting bigger but he does seem pretty self conscious about his size.

Yeah, he'll wish he wore those kneepads the right way when he takes a bump, lands right on the kneecap, and shatters/injures it.
I'm not wishing injury on the guy or anything.
Just sayin'.
