No, for me the greatest was the Sandman blinding angle in ECW.

well my favorite angle/gimmick of the late 90's was the "faces of Foley" period where you never knew which Foley you were gonna get

Other. It had the potential and it kind of ruined upon itself after de-pushing Goldberg. Ego-mania was runnin' wild brother! WCW botched a lot of things, but I don't think Bill Goldberg was one of them. They had him steamroll through everyone on the roster (including Hogan). The problem with these gimmicks (and you can lump Ultimate Warrior in there as well) is their short shelf-lives. There's only so many times a badass killer can squash his opponents and still maintain interest. After Goldberg's first loss, there was really no where to go, unless Goldberg himself changed. I believe they tried him as a heel (I didn't watch much WCW in 1999-2000), and that apparently flopped.

It was WCW's greatest angle ever that's for sure.

nWo was a great angle, and if not THE best it certainly up there on the list. I was eleven in 1996 and was a total mark. I knew it was fake, but I was the biggest mark ever. My family's always been wrestling fans, but the nWo angle is what got me really turned on to WCW, and when that fizzled into Wrestlecrap, the Austin storyline is what got me interested in WWF. So, nWo is what made me the smark I am today. ;D

Simple question. I've heard many times that the nWo was the greatest single angle ever in wrestling. Do you believe this? Or can you think of a greater one? No it wasn't, it was decent at first, but went downhill quickly once they started adding in everybody and their brother into the fold. I still like the Ministry of Darkness vs Corporation feud/angle better even though the ending sucked to it.

If it would have ended around Starcade 97 with Sting beating Hogan cleanly...it would have been for sure. The fact that it went on way too long and got boring takes away from it. That being said it still prolly is...

That being said it still prolly is... But it didn't really take off ratings wise until 1997 and 1998 so if they'd have ended it that early, it wouldn't have been as big.

The ratings didn't take off and crush Vince until then...
It's the nWo that brought WCW head to head with Vince and gave them the platform to start destroying Vince in the ratings for forever.

Other. It had the potential and it kind of ruined upon itself after de-pushing Goldberg. Ego-mania was runnin' wild brother! Except that Goldberg squashed Hall and beat Hogan clean after kicking out of the Legdrop for the title both in the same night. He did, but that was the 'passing of the torch' it seemed. Until... early 1999 when the Fall of WCW began (Foley wins WWE title to be exact). The 'Fingerpoke of Doom' ruined a lot of credibility to Goldberg since we saw the two biggest egos clash for a match that lasted about a minute. Goldberg was supposed to be fighting Nash, but NWO destroyed Goldberg...proving him invincible and thus ruined his credibility right there.

Yes definately the best. It made you always wonder who was going to join next. The nWo storyline also revived interest in Hulk Hogan and Sting, 2 guys whose popularity as goody two shoes faces was pretty much dead. It also turned goody two-shoes Scott Steiner into Big Poppa Pump and paved the way for his singles career. The nWo were badasses through and through. The sucess of the angle made Vince McMahon's WWF have to step up their efforts in order to compete.

One of the most successful, yes. My personal favorite is the one in my signature though.

The greatest angle by far, nothing will ever top it.

It definetly had the most potential, I'll say that about it.
