Simple question.
I've heard many times that the nWo was the greatest single angle ever in wrestling.
Do you believe this? Or can you think of a greater one?

The execution of it originally put WCW on the map. Something like the nWo had not been done before up to that point, and it was something truly revolutionary to the business. As the ranks became filled with crap, the ship went to the iceberg, as well as the company. So I said other, that means "In the middle, really in the middle."

It was good for the first few months until basically all you had to do is buy a shirt to join.

I said other because I think only tools say Hell before a yes or no. The NWO was a great angle, but i would have to say Austin/McMahon outshines it( even though I hated that angle by the end) because it drew alot more money and created one of the biggest stars in wrestling history.

Hogan turning heel turned the wrestling world on it's head. It was the biggest impact storyline of the 90s without question.

Hogan turning heel turned the wrestling world on it's head. It was the biggest impact storyline of the 90s without question. Not enough emphasis is placed on the above statement. Hogan turning and the NWO itself transitioned wrestling into the "cool heel/tweener" fad of the late-'90's. No longer were babyfaces groomed in the traditional "good" way. They had to have an edge to them. The NWO paved the way for Austin, Rock, and DX. It also turned some of the live crowds against face Shawn Michaels in late-1996/early-1997, and made bland Rocky Maivia type characters into hated faces. Was it the greatest angle ever? I don't know. Was it the best angle of the '90's? Without question, IMO. It brought wrestling back a bit, and Austin soon took the ball and made it even bigger.

I picked other, even though it was one of the greatest angles, politicking and other things ruined it.
I don't think there is one great angle out there that everyone can agree upon to be honest,IMO.

I actually enjoyed Evolution. Orton had a great match with Benoit and Batista would never have reached stardom without them. Flair was useless but I still liked them better than DX.

Yes it was. It was one of the first angles that succesfully blurred the lines between what was real and what was fake. It featured the Hogan heel turn which on it's own was one of the biggest stories ever. Regardless of what you think of Hogan now, this was HUGE at the time. And as a WWF fan, it made me want to watch WCW every Monday too, just to see what was going on.

The nWo was the most exciting angle. Sure it burned out, but McMahon/Austin burned out too... and was pushed on wayyyy too long. It's still being pushed to this day (SCSA stunning the McMahon's leading to JR being fired...). The nWo solidified tweeners and really created the environment that heels were cool. I always loved going to WCW shows during that time to watch more and more people go nWo in the crowd.
Not only was the original nWo invasion probably the best angle ever. It spawned Hogan/Sting and Horsemen/nWo where AA reforms the Horsemen in what could possibly the greatest moment of the 90's where Flair returns and gives that chilling promo.

I think the whole story and eerie execution of the Kane Taker original storyline was brilliant.

Other. It had the potential and it kind of ruined upon itself after de-pushing Goldberg. Ego-mania was runnin' wild brother!

Id say yes(Until Hogan vs Sting at Starcade). Everything it did for the buisness and the pure excitement I had for wrestling again was because of it. Its why I became a huge wrestling fan all over again.

Yeah, it's definitely the best angle of all time. There are a lot of really great angles, but the nWo is the best out of all of them.

It's no Austin vs The Establishment.
And maybe I'm the only one that feels this way, but the first few months of the Outsiders >>> nWo
