I just watched some of his movies over the last few days.
Wassup Rockers: Loved it
Ken Park: It was cool but I thought it was going to have more skateboarding
Bully: It kind of drug on but I enjoyed it
I've yet to watch Kids which I'll do either Sunday or Monday.
Anyone else like these movies? What's his weird obsession with shirtless teenage boys?
Anyone know of anyother cool skateboarding movies besides Lords of Dogtown which I own and love?

No as Larry Clark is a boring one note director and dirty old man. But as far as his movies go.... Bully is by far the best film he has ever done which isn't saying much really.
Hell the only reason why I ever bothered to watch Ken Park in the first place was to give a middle finger to the NZ oflc for banning it .

I enjoy his movies. I don't find his movies weird or perverted like a lot of people do. I think his style is perfect for the type of films he makes.
Kids and Bully are my favorites from him. Wassup Rockers was very "light" for Larry Clark, i was pretty suprised when i saw it. It was a good movie but it was not as stong as Kids and Bully IMO. I've actually never seen Kent Park...i don't think that was distributed in the U.S. because they could not clear the music rights or something. I had not even heard of it until awhile ago and just have not got around to watching it.
Can't help you with skateboarding movies. There is some skateboarding in Kids i guess.

Have you seen Dogtown and the Z-Boys? It's the documentary of the guys in Lords of Dogtown. It's really good, imo. Sean Penn narrates it and it has a lot of good interviews and archive videos as well as a killer soundtrack. It really shows the birth of skating as a sport. The only other one I movie I can think of is Grind. I watched it quite a few years ago and it wasn't too bad as I recall. A little cheesy, but Bam makes a brief cameo as "himself" which I thought was done pretty well.

I'll check out Grind as well.

Not really a fan. The "dirty old man" criticism is probably overdone, but it seems apt. He doesn't really interest, challenge, or entertain me, and I usually feel slightly dirty after watching one of his movies.

I liked Bully and Kids to a lesser extent but otherwise I'm not a fan.

I've only seen Kids and Bully, and I really liked those. Maybe I should check out more of Larry Clark's work.
As for skateboarding movies, I recommend: Gleaming The Cube (of course!!!), Rising Son: The Legend Of Skateboarder Christian Hosoi, Mike V's Greatest Hits, and Destroying America.
