The Simpsons episode where Bart burns all the presents. Ugh... agreed. I can't stand that episode. I mean, if Alex Trebek can't save your ass, then nothing can. That one, and the one where Bart steals the video game are probably the two Simpsons episode I dislike the most. The redeeming quality of the stealing episode was easily the Mall detective. He has what might be my all time favorite Simpsons quotes.

I hate this one episode of "The Incredible Hulk" where a cop, his brother, and his dad all go after this killer. The killer booby traps one of the entrances and murders the dad in out right cold blood (they tried to nab him while he's raping a woman or something, btw.) The brother becomes hell bent on revenge while the cop becomes this mopey emo puss that "doesn't know what to do." He starts doing background checks on the killer and finds he's been pretty much an unrepentant a-hole his entire life. The cop then starts feeling sorry for him or some bs and at the end "doesn't give in to his hatred" and talks the killer into surrendering...after I believe the killer crippled or killed his brother...I can't remember which. The Hulk is barely in the episode and even David Banner is used very sparsely. I have no clue what the message what other than maybe "Never use violence to solve anything ever." Sorry, but there's just some instances where violence needs to happen...especially against a monstrous beast like this killer guy.

The redeeming quality of the stealing episode was easily the Mall detective. He has what might be my all time favorite Simpsons quotes. I'm not saying that there aren't funny parts in these episodes, just that I'm not a fan of them overall. "Principal And The Pauper", an episode that I think is all right but is highlighted by fans (and the show itself) as a poor episode, has one of my favourite lines in the history of the show, when Homer says "Keep looking shocked, and move slowly towards the cake."

The three words that send every Doctor Who fan into a cold sweat: Love and Monsters.
It even has my pet peeve regarding bad tv and movies in that there's a good idea in there but it gets distorted into something vile and ugly.

"Luda-Christmas", a Season 2 episode of 30 Rock where Liz Lemon's family comes to visit her in New York. Jack Donaghy starts to hang out with this family until his mother decides to meddle with the Lemons' and start a family feud that I don't think has been resolved since. I mean, Liz Lemon already cops it enough without some old woman meddling with her family only to prove a point to her estranged son. So I don't particularly like that episode. In general, I'm not a fan of episodes where the main plot is a character having bad things happen to them for no reason, and then no good things happen at all to balance it out. Shame too, because the sub-plot was awesome (Kenneth the Page teaching everyone else the true meaning of Christmas). See, I love that episode for one line of dialogue: "You can't have a Lemon party without old Dick!" For my examples, I guess I'll pull them from Battlestar Galactica and Lost. BSG: Any of the standalone season three episodes. In the first two seasons, BSG would continue serialized stories or character arcs even in episodes that had little bearing on the general story (the notable exclusion is season two's "Black Market"). However, with season three the well seemed to dry up, Sci-Fi requested more standalones, and they had a huge episode order. This made it the longest, most drawn out season of the series, with such stinkers as "The Woman King" (Helo fights a racist doctor named after a Beatles song!). Lost: "Stranger In A Strange Land." The epic backstory behind Jack's tattoos. They were given to him by a clairvoyant whore played by Bai Ling.

I still don't get why so many people hate this episode so much. I thought it was great myself.

Most "Very special" sitcom episodes. You want me to see carefree characters face bad shit? No thanks.

During the David Tennent years of Dr Who there were episodes that featured very little of the Doctor. He was trapped somewhere and some random person had to free him, it was about some conspiracy club who follow the Doctor, or he was made to think he was someone else.
Hated those episodes.

Yea, if there are sometimes serious moments anyway then yes, M*A*S*H is a good example if you count some of their episodes. But the child molestation type things that were touched on (No pun intended) on Diff'rent Strokes and Mr. Belvedere, I'm not gonna watch

The one you that you mentioned specifically "love and monsters" may have been terrible (even with a blow job giving paving slab) but blink was one of the best bits of TV ever made. I lked the one which showed what would have happened if the doctor died too.

I always hated holiday episodes. Most of them are full of crap, loaded with a lot of inane sentimental pap. Seinfeld's was amazing though.
As much as I hate Lisa Episodes, I'm starting to really hate those "remember when" episodes of the Simpsons where they try to shoehorn the characters into something...like having Homer "create" grunge, etc.

One of my least favorite Simpsons episodes is Homer Simpson in: "Kidney Trouble." Homer is so unlikeable in that episode that when he really gets hurt near the end I actually applauded the first time it aired. That's how bad it was.

Only 766?
Kind of reminds me of Everybody Loves Raymond where almost every episode they have a fight and all you can think of is "why are these people even married?"

That episode of King Of The Hill where someone films foot fetish videos of Peggy Hill disgusted me so much I didn't watch the show again for years. Of course Peggy always annoyed the crap out of me anyway.
I also hate the Simpsons episode "Lisa The Vegetarian", but that's mostly because when it first aired my grandmother called during a commercial break and told me my grandfather had a stroke (he died three weeks later). That's all I can I think about when it comes on. City Slickers came on that same night and it evokes the same feelings.
