Images at Gizmodo show a gold/bronze colored 3DS: gizmodo.com/5564378/3ds-gallery/gallery/1Also, I wanted to gauge a time frame of release. When do you folks think it'll be released? It looked ready to ship IMO, but I'm guessing we'll have to wait for games to be developed.

I just wanted to stop by and say I love you guys. This is the only forum I know of that sounds intelligent concerning E3.
Oh and Nintendo won this year followed by Sony.

Sony's conference rocked, and they didn't even have Resistance 3 or Last guardian... PAX maybe?
Infamous 2's art direction was freaking sweet. My dislike of the voice and character design change will slip away.
Sly in HD... YES!
Twisted Metal.. f*** YEAH!
I am sold on Move for on e main reason, Sony is implementing it in a smart way. It can just be an alternate control scheme. People who want it, use it, those who don't? Doesn't matter. I now believe it will do better than Kinect, since it will have to pretty much have games design specifically for it. Also, Move is a way better name, and the Coke campaign is going to help it tons.
From a gamer stand point Nintendo knocked it out of the park. From a business stand point, it was all Sony. The things they announced, the way it was laid out, was spot on. And come on, KB, Gabe, and Sweet Tooth all on stage? Made of win right there.
For Nintendo, 3ds is likely the first system I ever pre-order. No waiting in line for that stuff, ME WANTY NOW.

Not AS much, $20 less, and you at least get a game with it. Kinect has a very real chance of not getting a pack in game. Stop being such a fanboy. You will literally justify anything Sony does by drawing some irrational conclusion to whatever Microsoft is doing. The two are no better than each other, and I highly doubt you'd take a bet on whether or not Kinect ships with a game. Dude, have you ever read Koda's gaming posts? He has taken after Sony hardcore many times. A few times to the point he pissed me off. But he almost always has well thought out opinions.

The thing is, everything he says is essentially right. These are questionable times to be a gamer. I haven't felt this shaky about the industry and its future since Sega collapsed as a hardware manufacturer. I'm not saying we're staring down the barrel of another '83 crash or anything, but there are lots of question marks dotting the future and can I foresee a scenario where the industry collapses under the weight of endless sequels, casual crap, and overall diminishing returns? Yeah. I kinda can. I'm not worried. Why? Cause if the gaming industry is doomed, so is every other entertainment industry, cause they are all losing money compared to previous years. It is cause we are in a recession. Gaming isn't going to die. Not when we still have games breaking the first 24 hour sales record for a piece of entertainment(current holder is Modern Warfare 2, and Activision looks like they are hoping Black Ops will break that record this year). Obviously it's not going to die. If it survived the industry crash of 1983 it can survive anything. My point is, it can and may very well collapse on itself. Comparing it to other entertainment industries doesn't work, because every other entertainment industry has multiple revenue channels to support it in lean times. Gaming has one- sales. Used games, piracy, and diminishing returns on sequels and remakes all chip away at that to begin with, but then you throw other issues on top of it and becomes a problem. And the article was right- Gaming is a very "of the moment" type thing. This will be the longest cycle in quite some time we've gone through with no new system, and people have short attention spans. The industry isn't nearly as secure as some seem to think.

There was a time where we thought it was only going to be released for the 360 and PC, since Gabe Newell is an anti-PS3 nutbar. Guess he had to suck it up and get crapped down on his neck about it until he caved.

Koda isn't objective when he rips a company or a platform, he just does. And comparing Move to Kinect is logical, because they're going to launch at the same time, and the video game press will make the comparisons anyway. At this point (hell, from the beginning really), Move looks better than Kinect.

The illogical part was the "Kinect has a very real chance of not shipping with a game." He pulled that entirely out of his ass. I also respect his opinion. It was just a useless thing to say.

Dude, this is one of the only moves(pun slightly intended) that I haven't ragged on Sony for all generation long. The reason I am, admittedly, jumping to the conclusion that Kinect has no pack in game is cause, don't you think that would've been something worth mentioning yesterday? And what about the no price yet? The device launches November 4th. E3 is the biggest gaming event all year. So why wouldn't they reveal these kind of things at E3? Are they saving it for Gamescom? PAX West? TGS? Those are the only other major gaming events before the launch. Unless MS decides to reveal these kind of details on their own outside of an event. Deep down I WANT Kinect to do good, cause I think it DOES have potential, it is just few of the studios are even trying for that potential. Instead the launch lineup has 3 fitness games(the only good looking one is EA Sports Active 2), and 3 dancing games(I'll admit, Dance Central looks....interesting). That is...well, to say it is misusing the device, gamewise, is an understatement.

The PS3 version will connect with Steamworks and your save data will be part of the Steam Cloud. Meaning, you can use the save data from your PS3 version on the PC and vice versa.

If anything, I hope this release of Portal 2 improves Valve's impression of the PS3 and they will hopefully release other titles as well like Half-Life or more importantly IMO: Left 4 Dead.

I didn't see the Nintendo conference but I'm more hyped for Nintendo's outings just from what was released on the Nintendo e3 coverage site, then I've been for gaming in a long time.

In a perfect world, we'd have a price point and more information. It's quite obvious Microsoft isn't there yet. FWIW, Dance Central looked to be the best motion game I've seen yet at E3 in my opinion.
