Some of us like the taste of meat without the, you know, death involved. Besides, soy-based meat substitutes are a hell of a lot healthier for you. And it's not even the taste of the flesh that we usually crave, but the seasonings used in the meat. maybe for you, but not everyone is like this, for example I don't season my steak, I sear it to a nice extra rare and eat it, no seasonings no steak sauce just meat...and blood if you wanna get technical, the only time I will add anything to a steak is if it's over cooked (I can't stand the taste of steak cooked past medium rare) but even then I'm more likely to just ask for a different steak
