Over two hundred days later, the "regular season" has come to a close. And much like NCAA Basketball, we end things with a big 64 man tournament to determine The Best Wrestler. The way I formulate the brackets goes like this.
1. Ric Flair was the last regular season winner, so gets an automatic #1 seed. The other seeds were determined based on (in order) number of wins, number of votes, the difference in the votes. So basically since the limit for victories was 10, the 10 win wrestlers got the top spots, but their positions in the brackets were determined by the number of votes they got.
2. Wrestlers who had ties, were treated as a victory. So even though a guy like Brian Pillman didn't technically "win", he still advanced to another day so that was treated as a victory.
3. There were approx. 48 or so winners, so 16 additional wrestlers were picked based off of the number of votes they got. In a lot of cases, the number of votes were identical, so I used vote differential as a tie-breaker. The cutoff for minimum votes was 11, but not everyone who had 11 votes made it. For example...
Owen Hart was on the bubble with 11, but his vote differential was greater than other 11 vote guys. The Ultimate Warrior got in with 12 votes, but if he had one less vote, Owen would have made it in instead of the Warrior.
4. I think placed each seed in one of the four regions (WWE, WCW, ECW, and Misc.) Misc. basically covers a lot of the other older promotions. I tried to put each wrestler with the best fit region wise, but some were impossible.
5. The method for when each match will be posted will be random.
------------------------------------
WWE Region: Match 1 (#3 vs. #14)
#3 Seed: "The Rated R Superstar" Edge
Major Titles Held:
WWE World Heavyweight Title (8)
WCW United States Title
WWE Intercontinental Title (5)
WWE World Tag Team Titles (12)
vs.
#14 Seed: "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters
Previous Results:
Misc. Region
#2 Bret Hart def. #15 The Dynamite Kid (23-8)
WCW Region
#7 Diamond Dallas Page def. #10 David Von Erich (22-7)
