Like if you see a fast food commercial and instead of wanting to buy the product you get grossed out.
Ones for me are usually the anti-tobacco, anti-drug ads though I have never actually smoked or done any drugs. Still, I don't see how they can be affective to anyone. Like, one I remember was inside a tobacco's board room and had the execs talking about how they know tobacco kills people or something like that. However, this is all done with a laugh track to make it look like a sitcom. I just found it hilarious and all it did was make me think that a tobacco executive meeting is more fun than the average business meeting.
Another one, was when they showed this drug addict shivering in his house, while rock music played. There was then text that said something like "a drug addict could be anyone even your dad." Hell, I wish my dad could afford to stay home all day while rock music plays.

Yeah I get what the Truth ads and the like are trying to do, but they just don't work IMO. Also the Carls Jr. commercials can be a little over the top, it's like they try to make their burgers gross, but I do enjoy Carls Jr. so they worked on me I guess

Any commercial that shows an asshole customer getting their own way. The Taco Bell commercial with the guy scavenging pennies from take a penny trays, the Captain Morgan commercial with the drunk guys buying a pizza so the delivery guy would drive them home then not tipping him, etc.

This might just be a real life version of Newz, but I'm pretty sure I've heard that a lot of anti-smoking commercials are actually done by Tobacco companies, because all those commercials do is make smokers feel the craving for a cigarette, and it allows the companies to look like they're doing a good thing.

Years ago in Montreal there was a commerical for CHOM radio's new morning show (Ted and Terry) and the commerical was kind of funny the first time. After the 10th showing in one hour, it got on my nerves. It got to the point where it was played so much that the idea of even seeing their pictures made me angry and want to punch them out. It took me a long time before I could even listen to their show. To this day, Ted is on the radio (he's quite good actually) and when I hear his name I go back to that commercial.
This commerical made me avoid CHOM like the plague for well over a year.

"We're Miracle Whip, and we're not toning it down".
Advertising glorified mayonnase as some sort of revolutionary thing does not make me want to buy your crap, Kraft.
In the Toronto area here, we get ads for this jewelry guy who starts making a spoof hip-hop music video, declaring himself to be the "Cash Man", who has all the deals you need.

They are required to because of a settlement made about a decade ago after several lawsuits. That doesn't stop them from making the anti-smoking ads so obnoxious that they may make people smoke out of spite, which means new customers for their product.

Seems like every PSA is unintentionally hilarious, so I suppose that counts.

I find Old Navy commercials so universally obnoxious that I have vowed never to purchase anything from the chain, ever. Damn mannequins.

I refuse to shop there because of what they did to some of our veterans who tried to sell poppies for Rememberance Day - they kicked them out. The moment I heard that, I banned them for life.

The sad thing is...I can actually see people doing that.

UK Crappers will get these, US Crappers go to youtube and check them if you want an excuse to drive a rusty spoon into your ears.
Go Compare and Webuyanycar.com.
Those adverts fill me with a kind of vitriolic anger you only see in action films.

The advert where the guy tells his kid a bedtime story about global warming. I think it's wrong to target kids like that, it's scaremongering at it's worst with pictures of drowning animals and implies that it's wrong to heat our homes. The poor kid must have had nightmares that night.
Adverts like that just harm their own cause.
Also I won't be buying Calsberg after probably the worst ad in the world, I don't like them using the late Sir Bobby Robson to sell beer so soon after his death. Although nobody else seems to have an issue with it and most people liked it, oh well (I suppose it's OK if they give some money to his charity though).

It reminds me of that episode of South Park where the kids start smoking because they guys telling them not to are so lame.
