technically it's not a cover... Argent recorded the song "God Gave Rock n Roll To You"... KISS recorded the song "God Gave Rock n Roll To You II"... and you people call yourselves KISS fans... Ha! I say... Ha! ;D

Right, let's try this. Off the top of my head: Kissin' Time Then She Kissed Me Any Way You Want It New York Groove (Ace on his solo album) When You Wish Upon A Star (Gene on his solo album) Tossin and Turnin' (Peter on his solo album) 2,000 Man Is That You? Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio? (for a Ramones tribute album some years ago) You missed Rock and Roll Hell from Creatures of the Night - it was a cover of a Bachman Turner Overdrive song of the same name. sorry for the double post...but... ya'll both missed "My Life" from the box set which was originally done by Wendy O. Williams...

You can find demos from roughly 1981-82ish of Kiss performing the song, so if anything, the WOW version is a cover

Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio? (for a Ramones tribute album some years ago) The KISS cover of this is pretty much one of my favorite songs ever. I highly recommend people check this out. Matter of fact, most of that tribute album is decent. KISS, Metallica, Rob Zombie, Green Day, Offspring, Marilyn Manson, and several others doing Ramones tunes , but they all do them in their own style as opposed to trying to copy the originals.

I loved "Return of Jackie and Judy" on that album, but then Tom Waits is the shizzlenizzle.

I'm sorry, but what Marilyn Manson did to "The KKK Took My Baby Away" is just unforgivable. I'm a fan of Manson's, have been for a while, but...anyway...that whole song was musical tragedy.

Yeah I knew that. But...did you know that Aerosmith's Train Kept Rolling is a cover?! Yeah, Tiny Bradshaw did it. So did the Yardbirds. Then Aerosmith. I imagine others have done it afterwards, too. I feel compelled to mention that while the song was originally done by Tiny Bradshaw, it was an piano-based R&B song and in my opinion the Yardbirds version is really a cover of the first rock 'n' roll version by the Johnny Burnette Trio. I like the Yardbirds version too, but I think Johnny Burnette's version is more raw and intense and overall is just flat out better. But whatever you prefer, they should definitely get the credit for having the vision and creativity to turn it into a guitar-based arrangement, not the Yardbirds. As for the Aerosmith version, frankly, I think they totally butchered it.

I found something interesting about the OP. I looked up the info for "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You" and it says that indeed it's a reworking of an Argent song, and yet Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and producer Bob Ezrin all received a writing credit. That I simply cannot explain.
