Point: I love me some KISS.
Counterpoint: KISS didn't improve on this with their cover.

I did. I've never heard the original song before, though.

Yeah, I'm one of the biggest Kiss fans on here, so I already knew that. If you dig deep enough, you'll find a few more of their songs that are covers.

Yeah. Bill and Ted's original was much better.

Well now it all makes sense, that song never sounded like something Kiss would write.

Oh, I knew. Argent's is the superior version.

Maybe it's because I'm a hardcore KISS mark, but I MUCH prefer KISS' to Argent's version.

Back in the 80s, WNEW radio announced a contest to guess what the one millionth song they would play would be. The song ended up being Argent's "God Gave Rock N Roll To You".

If you dig deep enough, you'll find a few more of their songs that are covers. Right, let's try this. Off the top of my head: Kissin' Time Then She Kissed Me Any Way You Want It New York Groove (Ace on his solo album) When You Wish Upon A Star (Gene on his solo album) Tossin and Turnin' (Peter on his solo album) 2,000 Man Is That You? Do You Remember Rock And Roll Radio? (for a Ramones tribute album some years ago)

It would've been hilarious to see Gene stalking the stage in his big old dragon boots singing that ;D

You missed Rock and Roll Hell from Creatures of the Night - it was a cover of a Bachman Turner Overdrive song of the same name. For real? The liner notes say it was written by Gene Simmons, Jim Vallance and Bryan Adams (Yes, that Bryan Adams. No, not Brian Adams.), and Gene has been saying for years that the song was about Ace Frehley. Then again, he is Gene Simmons... ... All right, looks like Vallance originally wrote it for BTO and then he "reworked" the song for Creatures with Gene and Bryan, with a new lyric and arrangement. Fair enough.

I did know that it was a cover, but I hadn't heard the original.
However, I prefer KISS's version.

Yes, I knew it was a cover but that's from looking it up years ago after watching Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey again.

Yeah I knew that. But...did you know that Aerosmith's Train Kept Rolling is a cover?! Yep, I really dig the Yardbirds' version as well.

Yeah I knew that. But...did you know that Aerosmith's Train Kept Rolling is a cover?! Yeah, Tiny Bradshaw did it. So did the Yardbirds. Then Aerosmith. I imagine others have done it afterwards, too. The Stones, Aerosmith and Ratt all covered Walkin' The Dog on their debut albums too.
