Given how much the show differs from the original U.K. version I really can't see the same ending of the U.K. version being applied to the U.S. version. After all if the U.K. ending was applied then: {Spoiler}Michael would fired and Dwight would be promoted to regional manager. Michael would tell off Todd Packer, who's not really that big of a character in the U.S. version. Jim and Pam can't get together for the conclusion because that already happened years ago. Plus while Michael would find the possibility of love, the U.K. version seems like too much of a downer for Michael overall, who is much more sympathetic than his U.K. counterpart. What I see happening is that Holly comes back and marries Michael with the last episode maybe being a two-part wedding episode. Michael would also get some higher position in Sabre, which would be kind of a counterpart to Jan/Ryan/Charles' old job for Dunder-Mifflin. Jim and Dwight would then be promoted to co-branch managers and bury the hatchet.

I've always said that they'd finally start asking questions about the documentary, find out it's a hit show on NBC (much like in real life) and all retire wealthy.

Lol, it would be funny if Todd Packer took over the office. He and Charles Minor would treat Jim Halpert like a total bitch.

I said it once, and I'll say it again.
Sabre opens the first Dunder Mifflin branch on a satellite orbiting the earth. Everyone transfers there, except for Michael, who's scared of heights. Dwight becomes the new Manager and the series is renamed The Office (Space). Michael, meanwhile, settles down with Holly, they have 3 kids, and Michael becomes the manager of the local Chili's. His show is renamed Chili Out!

Perhaps Steve Carell's character can become the new governor of Pennsylvania. With Rendell leaving office this year, anyone would look better.

A Michael run for public office would be pretty funny, even it if would rob an entire season of Parks and Recreation.
My hypothesis, is that the Office US is actually running on the BBC in universe.
As for the final episode, Dwight defeats the Scranton Strangler in single combat.

Still one of my favorite Onion articles ever. www.theonion.com/articles/the-office-ends-as-documentary-crew-gets-all-the-f,6988/ EDIT: And it's funny, because this is actually how the show ended pretty much.

Lol, it would be funny if Todd Packer took over the office. He and Charles Minor would treat Jim Halpert like a total bitch. With Dwight still there as well the spin off could then be called, "Halpert in Hell."

Is there really gonna be a spin-off? I've heard rumors before.

Toby turns out to be the Scranton Strangler and everyone learns that Creed is actually a ghost who haunts the office.

It has to involve Gervais somehow He is supposed to show up as David Brent sometime down the line, most likely next season from what I can tell from recent news reports. Although I hope it doesn't end as a previous poster mentioned with the show just being said to be a television show with fake characters. I hate stuff like that. It would be even worse than if the entire series just turned out to be Jim's daydream.

An autistic boy staring intently at a snowglobe, with a miniature office building inside.
Or Bob Vance (Vance Refridgeration) is the Scranton Strangler.
