With some people are getting the first DB Kai dvd/Blu Ray early (Since it comes out in two weeks) from rightstuf. I might as well get this up. Since on May 24th, Dragon Ball Kai is going to air on Weeknights on Nicktoon Tv at 8:00 pm est and 8:30 pm est.
There is going to be some difference between the Dvd/Blu ray to the tv airing.
1. Attack names are different. On the dvd/blu ray verison, the attacks will be its original names (that means Descturco Disc be back as Kienzan and Speical Beam Cannon will be Makankosappo). While on the tv it be the original U.S. attacks names.
2. On the dvd/blu ray "It's will be Over 8000!!!", while on the tv verison it will be the famous, "It's Over 9000!!!".
Anyway besides those things and blood edits for tv. Its going to be filler less DBZ, but with better acting with a more accurate script to the original Japansee story of the series.
Anyway here is the english dub of the first opening and ending. During the english ending video before the ending get to hear a few minute or so of Piccolo, Nappa, and Vegeta for the dub. Also on the ending video it have the Next episode preview for Episode 11. So enjoy.
Opening: Dragon Soul (sung by Sean Schemmel)
Ending: "Yeah! Break! Care! Break! (Sung by Jerry Jewel)
If I find more clips later of the dub, I'll post them So you guys can hear the other characters.

I wonder if they'll use Mr. Satan instead of Hercule.

They probably will be using Hercule on the tv verison. While on the dvd/bluray release it will be Mr. Satan.

Dragon Ball Kai is basically Dragon Ball Z, but without the ton of the filler crap (Fake Namek, Garlic Jr, Etc) that was in the series. Currently in Japan, just aired Episode 55, which begin the Articfical Human arc. Which in the original Z series, the artficial human arc didn't start until Episode 118.

I knew they were cutting down the episodes, but not by that many. Wow. Kids these days and their filler-less Dragonball. Back in my day I had to sit through weeks and weeks of worthless crap just to get to the good stuff AND I LIKED IT DAMN IT!

I forgot to mention that I did saw the Dragon Ball Kai Volume 1 Blu ray at Wal-Mart, a couple days ago. They had it for $34.99 for 13 episodes. Not a bad price for it. They also had the Volume 1 on dvd for $29.96.

Gohan got new voice actress, Colleen Clinkenbeard (Luffy in the Funimation dub of One Piece). She fits prefectly as Gohan. Also the first two episodes of Dragon Ball Kai is now on the Nicktoon tv website. nicktoons.nick.com/shows/dragon-ball-z-kai

I find it interesting they use footage of the Bardock movie in the first episode...unless they did show Bardock in the first episode and my memory of the show is completely shot.
I am kindof glad they cut down on filler. The hardcore fan in me does feel like some of it is necessary and I might miss it for the first few sagas. Then I remember I'm not big on the Cell saga and I have an ice cold hatred for the Buu saga because of all the filler.
That theme song hurts though...don't quit the day job Sean...and this coming from someone who thinks you kick ass at what you do. I mean, I guess that comes with the territory. Putting an anime theme to english vocals only seems to work if you're Yu Yu Hakusho.

No, the Bardock special didn't air until the year after Dragonball switched to Dragonball Z (which was 89, I think. So...1990, I guess), so that whole little recap was added. I liked it. It covered the high points for those that never watched Dragonball and got everything up to speed.

Just finished watching the first two episodes of tv verison of DB Kai episodes 1 and 2. All of the voices fits the characters more naturally now. Vic's verison of Dragon Soul is okay, but Sean's verison that is on the dvd/blu rays is far superior then Vic's verison.
The editing so far is pretty well done, kept the mentions of death and dying in the show, which is good. Hell they kept death in the episode 3 title in the episode preview.

I'm kindof glad that they switched Gohan's voice myself. It sounds pretty good if you ask me...obviously different but fine with me. I always thought as a kid it was kindof cheap to have the SAME voice for Kid Goku and Gohan (this was during the original dub...I think the Ocean dub...i'm not a big expert on it as you all could probably already guess...though they did the same thing for the Funimation Dub of Z and GT). I just wonder now what Kid Goku sounds like if they let him speak in any flashback scenes they kept around. Now I gotta wonder how long it'll take until we get a "Farmer with shotgun kills..." vid with the Kai footage...

Didn't the manga say 8000?
And I like not having entire episodes of powering up and grunting and shouting.
